somethin like dat was invented! this would save many people's career and livelihood. Great invention!

Having once had to scramble to get medical attention for a kid who'd fed her fingers to a table saw, I can't recommend this highly enough. (The kid retained her fingers and some sensation and use, but the injury was severe, and I never want to go through something like that again.) Great idea, and the industry should make it standard.

it'd be fun to play around with, but the cartridges are about 80 bucks a pop. so not worth shoving a hotdog in unless for promotional purposes i guess.

LEARN TO USE A SAW!!! As a paramedic I am so tired of taking dumbasses to the hospital because they got their fingers too closs to the blade of a table saw!! I can see if you are injured from a piece of wood kicking back or even if it is a circular saw and it kicks back but DAMN people use common sense and KEEP YOU FINGERS AWAY FROM THE BLADE!!!! If the wood is to small to give you room to slide it through safely with your hands then use a damn push stick!! I learned the basic safety of table saws in school..

If its terminal for the brakes every time. How much do the aluminium brakes cost and what if you want to cut sausages?

Just thing when the joker down the street buys one... wonder how many of his fingers will he have to cut of before he realizes I broke the spring on his saw LOL

I have been a wood working for most of my life. I have even lost 1/8 of an inch of bone from one of my fingers because of it.
Well it is amazing how the tec. has changed. This will safe fingers and people lives who depend on their fingers to make a living.

Well, each time that happens, you'll have to replace the aluminum brake...Not to good when you need to keep working, no?

He is trying to ge the government to pass a law saying all new saws have to have this technology which of course he owns the patent on.
So, while it's cool and all, forcing it on companies will just jack up prices.
If he thinks people will want it, market a saw with it and see if it sells. It might, might not.

my grandfather had one 10 years ago when he chopped off few of his fingers. Not good.

the machine will cost a fortune ,and if the human body absorbs the electricity, think of a wet wooden plank you cut ,you have to dispose of the aluminum pad and the cutting blade

why don't they use a real finger to test if this really works?

but isn't most carpanter wear gloves when they are handling saw and stuffs

so what if those gloves messed up the electric charge and didn't stop the blade or make it go faster???

I keep seeing posts all over the net about the saw tripping when it comes in contact with damp or "wet wood" It's Bull! For the saw to trip the wood has to have a moisture content of above 45%. This saw is Awesome!

but doesn't anyone else think, if your finger got caught under one of the teeth when the blade gets pulled under it would cause injury? I think it would be safer if it stopped and rotated backwards a lil slowly and didn't go under the table.

I've used power tools for many years and have yet to be hurt beyond nicks and scratches.

it seems that the brake or whatever one could call (the aluminum thing that stops the saw) seems to be destroyed. So i am guessing that the brake would need replacement. wonder if its expensive. a small price to pay for safety

surely a slightly damp block of wood would still transfer some of the electric charge and cause the brake to operate?
