It worked for me.
I had a key changer already, so I just used the supplied key. The only thing that happened to me, and maybe it happened to someone else, is that my firefox went all screwy and erased all my favorites. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with changing my key or not. All I know is that I don't get that notification telling me that my copy of XP is not genuine.
