    Sorry to say, but most of this footage is from the 7o some-odd schools around Shaolin set up to make money. The one scene of students in horse stance holding bowls is the worst in the documentary and obviously doen for the camera - just watch the asshole teacher and you ill see what I mean.

    You cannot compare all Westerners and All Chinese with regard to motivation and discipline. You will find the ones who make the effort to go all the way to China to join are constantly used as examples by the teachers to show the locals how little discipline they have. And, you watch way too much fucking tv. Reruns of Kung Fu do not make you an expert on Shaolin Kung Fu!

      I recognised the temple and a man in the video. It is indeed shao lin temple in China. The big size monk with beard came to Malaysia for Shao Lin Kung Fu's stage performance. I did not watch the show live, but it was all over in Malaysia's newspapers because several governement ministers were watching the opening show.

      Whatever your intention is, they are not Tibatian monks.

    That song is a classic but obviously did not suit the documentary. i normally like it but it really pissed me the fuck off here. Also, it was too loud so you could not hear the commentary. maybe if it were faint in the background it would be ok.     Its more like a Kungfu body SHOW. The real kungfu should be the combination of both outer and inner parts. btw just to remind, if kungfu is used in real fight, unlike some gaudy body movements in the movies, thats just 1 or 1 series of hits, then u die :)

The monks have great skill and dedication, something that nobody in american dojos can compete with because we have lives mixed with work, education, and everything else. these people dedicate themselves to philosophy, knowlege and their martial art and nothing else to distract them. And for your information people, Kung fu means perfection and mastery, meaning you can be a kung fu cook and a kung fu tailor. wushu is the correct term.
