  • think about it

this martial art is based on pin point moves to disable a human being. you cant compare it to mma cause it has nothing to do physical fitness or endurance. one hitter quiters and broken bones

  • Bruce Lee said it..

in a late interview in his career that he doesnt believe in japaneese way of fighting or chineese way of fighting anymore, giving an indication to what is known today as MMA (mixed martial arts) which is mainly BJJ (for ground fighting) + Wrestling ( for slams, takedowns and takedown defence) + kickboxing (for striking).

This is a great martial art as you can see it's all to do with balance and protecting the centre line i'd recommend it to anyone

Thanks for posting this! I hope that I'm still able to kick ass when I'm an old man. I have a feeling that Ip Chun was holding a lot back, and if he were to forced to fight a man in his 20's, he would leave the younger guy lying in a pool of blood and spittle.

  • Not Bruce Lee's teacher

Bruce Lee was taught by Wong Shun Leung in the early '50s for some time. WSL even features [as himself] in one of Bruce' movies. Check the internet in case you doubt me.
Tsui, though one of Yip Man's original students, never taught Bruce Lee.
Bruce Lee based most of his Jeet Kune Do on the Wing Chun principles, as is easy to see for everybody who has been training the style for some time. 8 mm movies with Bruce Lee doing the first form can be found on YouTube and similar sites. One can also see that Bruce was not very good at forms... ;)
