  • He's autistic?

This guy blurs the line of autism, even the "high-level" type. What exactly defines autism? Is it his ability to see numbers and their relationships as a type of imagery? He may not posses the greatest social skills, but then again many people don't and are not labeled autistic. He doesn't seem to have a lot of problems interacting with people or expressing himself and yet has this amazing ability with numbers. Compare him with say Kim Peek, the man "Rain Man" was based on, who has severely diminished social abilities (a classical savant). To me this guy falls into a different category.

    • very much agreed

I knew someone who had a sister that was seriously autistic.... she had burns all over her body, and would say the most random wonderful, creative, stuff.. also liked to take her clothes off in front of everyone.. she didn't like having clothes on, apparently... and no, it wasn't a sexy thing.. she was scarred from burns as a child.

  • Autistic Kids are Amazing!

Daniel is truly amazing. I wish my own nephew who is also autistic was more like him. Unfortunately, my nephew's autism is a little different. His mental and behavioral development is really slow. He can't even speak. I hope one day there will be a treatment for autism that will make autistic kids more like Daniel. You can read about my autistic nephew at MyAutisticBoy.com

  • ...

Which as much as he comments upon relating colors, shapes and textures with things it appears that he could have a form of synaesthesia. For those who don't know what that is or don't want to Google it, synaesthesia is a joining of the senses. One may smell colors, taste words, see shapes when listening to music, etc.

    • weird

I think my brain does something like this, no matter what sense I am using I seem to notice things visually and it's like i can smell things i see yet the thing might have no smell, I think in my case there are just memories that contain certain senses that I can activate by doing certain things. (and i also see the numbers 0-9 with colors like he did, this video has me wondering now)

has an injured soul yet has so much to teach us. He could quite possibly open doors for all of us. He is fascinating and deep.
