Anyone can fold a simple origami crane out of paper. Fold one thousand and you can make a wish! Add a thread and you have a lovely Christmas tree ornament.
folding a thousand cranes, someone's gonna wish they didn't have arthritis!
By CENSO 1209769457I was fine folding along with you until midpoint and your hand covered up the folding techniques.
By Patartsy 1197243779The same thing... Was hard to see through your hands, and the subtitles alone were'nt enough. Would've been useful to have some sort of audio direction alongside also. You clearly know what you're doing. :o)
By LizzyBetxoxo 1268520628I hope the subtitles will help you figure it out. If not, instructions can be found in many places on the Internet, as the crane is perhaps one of the most common origami figures.
By Jennifer F. 1197278071i forgot what the book is called, but its about a girl who gets lukemia and still ends up making 1000 cranes. i think her wish was to live, but i dont remember what happened, i read it a LONG time ago.
By falcoflier 1174616098http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadako_Sasaki
The crane folding tradition was made famous in the West by the children's book "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes" by Eleanor Coerr. This book was based on the true story of Sadako Sasaki.
hey this is nice i made a little one out of a sticky note it this is cool ima make them in different sizes thanks a lot
By kartak 1235365387to falcoflier:i also read that story long time ago and its a true sroty.as i can remember she was ill(cancer because of radiation.u.s.a bombed hiroshima and nagasaki WW2)she started making cranes but she couldnt manage it.she died after 7xx i can't remember the exact number.

Mostly because of the way most of the time it's hard to see because your hand was blocking the sight, but in the end i managed to figure it out! Still, video instructions are way better than picture instructions! Thanks for the walkthrough vid!
By Mugsi 1211569273This was one of my first videos, maybe if I was making it now I would try a different camera angle.
The great thing is there are a whole lot of other videos on this same subject at Metacafe, so people can check out one of them if mine is unclear :D
