      Just to confirm what other idiotic people may think is really false, I'd like to say that I saw that movie and it is intentionally phony but hilarious at the same time. It's not meant to be a comedy but that's the way it comes off. Also, if this were 'real footage' it's hardly likely to be such a good quality. Most sighting are made from amature footage not professional video. And even if it were real, didn't that video of bigfoot / sasquatch that was so famous, and probably seen by every person with a television, turn out to be a hoax?

    Glad to read form other comments that it's not a fake but a clip from a piece of fiction. Because I'd hate to think someone who created such nice visuals would create such bad dialogue (and acting) if they really wanted to fool anyone.     what you're looking at may not have intentinally been fake, but it still is

    there was some show on a while back that explained two possibilities:

    1. the ripples in the water could just be a shock wave from a fault line at the edge of the lake

    2. the waves from a boat could bounce off of the sides of the river and converge in the middle of the river forming ripples and waves that look like some animal rolling over in the water, and with how wide loch ness is the boat that caused the initial waves would be long gone by the time this all occured

    for the record, i think the fault line thing is more likely, i dont see how tiny waves from a boat can travel all the way across the lake and back

    Obvious fake to anyone who actually analyzes the video. You can see the glassy streak of water in front of the object, which is obviously where a boat had just past. I am a water skier and I spent six years in the Navy. I know what the water looks like after a boat has just passed. The object is definitely being pulled by a boat. Another thing you can tell is the object rises out of the water instead of rolling out like a whale or a dolphin would. Looks like they are pulling the object with a boat and then use remote controll fins to cause the object to rise up.

      I saw the "trail" in the water too, but I wonder why there were no waves from that trail judging by the speed the 'thing' was moving. If it is being towed, even with a long rope, which would account for its path not following the trail, you should still be able to see some sort of wake from the towing boat. Still think its a fake, but hey, it gives us something to talk about.

      bieng idiots. Tires tied behind a boat? does that explain what appears to be sort of a black fleshy mass rising out of the water two times. An Innerturbe would be afloat the whole time. And pay attention to when the camera swings to the other side. You get a clear view of the lake ahead. No boat. Nothing. And that trial is either the suns shine on the water or wind blowing off the side of the boat onto the water. Obviously you nerds have never been on a lake. And if that was a towing trail, the thing dosnt even follow it. And I dont hear a boat do you? and b.t.w the sonar thing. Maybe it was off dumbass. The guy looked at it anyway and maybe he did saw it and didnt have time to say anything because the cameras went off after it. There is just one thing I find wrong. Theres no proof this is on lake lochness. That could be a whale in a calm bay in newzealand or something.

      Good thinking on the towing, since it's not hard to see the trail in the water which mysteriously turns off camera. But that turn in the trail is what makes it so believable. If a boat was pulling something, the something would NOT follow the trail, it would follow where the boat was at that instant, so it would likely go behind the boat (can't tell if it passes under the boat or just in front). Also, anybody who has ever towed something through the water knows that the tow rope leaves a wake of its own, which does not appear anywhere in the video. Maybe it's not a hoax, or maybe it's radio controlled Nessie.

      I find it funny how they are showing off their "Sonar" equipment in the beginning, this equipment didn't detect "Nessy"? Instead of the aformentioned weighted car tires, I figure it is a weighted Semi innertube. A boat definately went through but a while before they began filming. I figure they used a long tow rope which would allow the innertube to surface and then sink depending on how much force was put on the tow rope. HAving said all of that you gotta give them credit for keeping the spirit of Nessy alive.

      That part of the loch is too shallow for anything of the size that the "sighting" seems to suggest. One can wade out up to one's shoulders at that point, from the shingle beach at Dawes. So the water is too shallow, no boat could go there unless it was flat bottomed (and then too slowly), so I suggest video-trickery.

    because loch ness is a open sea loch theres a theory that she leaves the loch and travels to the artic circle for food and breeding, comes back to the loch to give birth and the cycle continues. another thing to think about.. i recently saw a clip of sea creates like sea spiders being bigger ( like 100x's its size)because of the cold water. that could explain nessie's size
