I read the Qur'an and I learned a lot from the true Islam. Islam is the true religion. I was a Catholic and convetedto Islam. I found out that Christianity is not a complete religion. Islam is the religion of peace indeed. Whatever you are saying I am sure if you read the Qur'an, you will change your mind and might convert to Islam. What is wrong about propaganda? Th USA and Israel are doing a bad propaganda against Islam. What is wrong if Muslims try to fight back the Israeli propaganda.Where is the freedom you are talking about? Well if you have carefully read what i've previously wrote you wouldnt have replied by that mail coz that's exactly what i was asking people to do. TO READ BY THEMSELVES and not to judge by other people's actions. I know that some muslims do some wrong actions and i'm sorry for that, but that's why i want people to read Islam as if they have never heard of it before then they can judge. Its always amazing to read comments about islam. They are mostly caused from people's "misunderstanding" of islam. It is our responsibility as muslims to inform everyone of true islam, for failing to do so, I apologize, for the acts of "radical islam". I apologize, and for every insult and every negative act, I apologize. However, my apology does not give credit to the demeaning, horrifying and terrorizing act of any person's doings in the name of islam. In fact, we as muslim, condemn their every act.

I know that as a muslim I'm entitled to nothing. I might be thought of as a bad guy, criminal or even worse terrorist. I might be disliked, hated, and loathed. I have no value and my words might not be considered credible. I might be even considered brainwashing people's mind. Nevertheless, I have a favor to ask of all of you. Please allow me to talk a little bit about islam too.

Islam is a religion that is based on peace, mercy, forgiveness, love, respect and many other good quality. There is nothing in islam that teaches hated, revenge, terrorism or any other devilish act. In fact, islam is against that. Islam teaches us to get rid of those kind of dark acts and replace them with harmony, peace, love, mercy, forgiveness and care.

Well, what about Jihad. Jihad means straggle. Straggle with one's self to do the best. In other words, do the best you can in everything. Control your self. Deal with people in a very nice way no matter who they are and "what they believe". Always put others first. Think of the poor and care for the sick and elders. Don't try to fool your partner in a business relation. In fact, let him/her have the greater end of the profit. Always giving, caring, and peace making is the bases of islam.

Jihad never meant war. Muslims were defending themself at war with non-believer. They were trying their best to defend themselfs. In fact, jews, christians and people with other religion lived together in harmony during Prophet Mohammed's life.

Islam is very close to Judaism and Christianity. In fact, the biggest difference between Islam and Christianity is that, Christians believe Jesus is the son of god. However, Islam tells us that Jesus is a prophets just like Ibrahim, Muses, and Josef. Futhermore, we believe that Jesus is the musaya and will appear at the end of time. We muslims will join with Jesus at the time.

Another "misinterpretation" is that the word "allah" means "the god of islam". I hate it when people think of it that way. "Allah" is just a name. In islam, there are 99 names for god. Nonetheless, there is only one god. The god of all creations. The God of Adam, Enoch, Noah, Hud, Saleh, Ibraham, Lot, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Jethro, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elijah, Elisha, Jonah, Zacharias, John the Baptist, Jesus, Mohammed and many other prophets that are not mentioned in islam.

Islam, like all religions, came to bring people to peace. It came to help the weak. It came to make people happy and give them a purpose to life. It is wrong to think that such a religion, that is filled with beauty to be the cause of the world's problem. Yet, muslims are always thought to be the bad guys. I guess I need to thank the terrorist for their help in creating the impression. However, I want to make it clear that "none" of the terrorist's acts is even close to any islamic teaching. I personally belive they are either people faking to be muslims or people brainwashed by someone who uses religion for his own purpose.

There is something I want to say to all Muslim. Why are you swearing at non-Mulism? Didn't the Quran say that you are not to swear that non-muslim so that they don't swear at Allah. How on earth do you want people to learn about islam if you, as a muslim, don't even follow the guidelines to symbolize true islam? Review your acts; Because you are a Muslim, by acting wrongly, you are hurting islam more than anyone else as you symbolize islam. Learn about true islam and start acting like a proper muslim. Remember the prophet and how he dealt with people and how emotional he was. Remember his kindness. Remember his love. Remember his humor. Remember his teachings. Remember the prophet and try to act like he did.

I do apologize for organization of this essay. I tried to vary my topics so that I could at least give you a brief idea of islam. Thank you for reading. I hope this helped you understand islam more. I really hope you read more about islam. Ask someone that is really willing to help and who knows the truth. Try to ask more than one person on the same topic. I'm a Christian (although I need work just everyone else does) and I find that Muslims (not the extremists or fanatics) are our brothers in God & that their religion is bashed endlessly, although I'll have to disagree with their treatment of women. It's just like with the Christian religion though. As time passes, ppl change what's in the books to suit their needs or rationalize their actions. I'll stay with Christianity though because I've had my own experiences that justify my faith.

If u look at it, yes, Christianity is probably not the same as it was in the olden days. & for those who claim it's propaganda, look into it & then decide (You can't judge a book by its cover). A lot of reasons that atheists put out for not accepting religions vary - some have been spurned (i.e. probably young children abused by their priests, which I can understand), some don't have patience (and are childish - i.e. the removing of a statue of the Bible just because it's "offensive"), others just want an excuse to go out and do whatever they want.

For the atheists, you say that religions are messing up the world, consider this - religions provided rules that not only coincide with the law but also push ppl to better themselves. If we had nothing to believe in or if we believed in ourselves instead of a higher power, we'd be sorely disappointed. Look at the aspects of human nature, we lie, cheat, steal, adulterate, kill and so forth (heck, it's human nature that twisted the religions we know into propaganda) - now image how that would be magnified if we didn't follow, say, the Bible, Ten Commandments, holy Quran or even Buddhism! Even if religion is a tool for social control, it CAN be said that it's for the general benefit of all mankind. Yes, we humans have a capacity for good, but let's not forget the capacity for evil. I also believe there is a God because nothing, on the scale of planets, stars & other celestial beings, could've been created by "accident" or some big bang. Just like with anything we make, there's a consciousness, purpose or will guiding that creation

Almost all the major religious scriptures of the world contain the word "Allah" as one of the names of God.

a. Elohim El, Elah, Alah
In the Bible, God is very often referred to as ‘Elohim’ in the Hebrew language. The ‘im’ in the ending is a plural of honour and God is referred to as ‘El’ or ‘Elah’ in the English Bible with commentary, edited by reverend C. I. Scofield. ‘Elah’ is alternatively spelled as ‘Alah’. The difference in spelling is only of a single ‘L’. Muslims spell Allah as ‘Allah’ while the Reverend has spelled it as Alah and they pronounce it as ‘Elah’. Muslims pronounce it as Allah. Hebrew and Arabic are sister languages therefore we say it should be pronounced as ‘Allah’ and not as ‘Elah’.

When I was in school, I was taught ‘D, O’ is do, ‘T, O’ is to. What is ‘G, O’ It is ‘go’ and not ‘gu’. ‘N, U, T’ is nut, ‘C, U, T’ cut; ‘B, U, T’ is but, what is ‘P, U, T’? Not ‘pat’ but it is ‘put’. If you ask "Why?" The answer is "It is their language". If I have to pass I have to say ‘P, U, T’ is ‘put’ and not ‘pat’. Similarly the right pronunciation for A, L, L, A, H, is Allah.

b. Jesus (pbuh) cried out Allah Allah when he was put on the cross
It is mentioned in the New Testament in the Gospel of Mathew, chapter 27 verse 46 as well as Gospel of Mark, chapter 15 verse 34 when Jesus (pbuh) was put on the cross.
Jesus cried with a loud voice saying "E’-Li, E’-Li la’-ma sa-bach’ -tha-ni?" that is to say, ‘My God, My God why hast Thou Forsaken Me?’ Does this sound like Jehovah! Jehovah! why has thou forsaken me? Does it sound like Abba Abba? The answer is ‘No’. Hebrew and Arabic are sister languages and if you translate "E’-Li, E’-Li la’-ma sa-bach’-tha-ni" into Arabic it is ‘Allah Allah lama tarak tani’ does it sound similar?
This statement of Jesus (pbuh), "E’-Li, E’-Li la’-ma sa-bach’-tha-ni" is preserved in its original Hebrew in each and every of its translation which is available in more than 2000 different languages of the world and in each and every of them, "Allah" is present.

Religion is something you have to learn and know about, before you can say anything about it.In many religions are a small group af people, who call for hate and destruction of other religions. This is in every religion! The people who want to do good and live in peace, are desturbed by people who want war (read power).
This is very sad, because the good people are seen as bad people. All the holy books have the same guidelines for live. No killing; no steeling; respect parents, and so on. But people will allways read between the lines, or give another inturpertation to it. I live amongst many religions, and have many friends with different believes. Peace comes from within! Agression is to be found on every streetcorner. It is sad that people want power in the name of God. The war they want is in themselves. This is not God speaking, but a humanbeing who wants war. Knowledge is peace! And that feels very good!

nowhere in the Quran states to torture a man!! Muhammad (pbuh) never did that.. one question though!!! who gives the authority for an extremist to do such a horrifying act and they call themselves a servent of Allah! I find a very distinct problem with showing a video such as this. It makes it dangerous to make coments against the video or its interpretation. I am not going to make such comments, because I do see this video as being a true representation of the Islamic faith, however I do find it truly offensive that this website and service (which is secular) has now been made into a battlefield for religious testimonies. I am glad for your religious freedom, and I am glad that you all find happiness in whatever faith you follow but this is not the place to make it unfriendly for other religions to enter. I am a Wiccan, not a muslim, and I believe it would be a safe bet to not mention the idea that one religion is right over others before properly examining the religions in question. Islam may be right for you, but not for me, and that does not make it the perfect faith.

Remose-Very Good Explanation Though I am a Christian and have read both the Qur'an and Bible. The Main Difference I found was acctually quite different. The Qur'an and Bible both use combination of symbolism and literal scripture. Where in the bible when symbolsm was used it was also explained, but in the Qur'an I found very little of that. Which is probably partly the cause of so many varying degrees of Islam. Also I found Islam to be the Incomplete religion. There is a complete distancing from God that God Trancends all. This distance compared with the intimiate relation that christianity has with god is a big difference for me.

P.S. Qur'an refers to Jesus as a great prophet not Messaiah. Also Jews do belive in Jesus just not that he was the one God would send.

The old man in this video did good, but the only reason those buffoons listened is because he was an elder and a fellow Muslim. Had he been anything else, those men would have chopped off his head just as well. It's not that Islam preaches violence. I have no doubt it has great values, but there are people out there who corrupt all religions. There are people who would think that the captors in this video were the true Muslims.
