bioluminescence
can't beleve they would show a Vampire Squid with out mentioning bioluminescence. I would like to see a video of its bioluminescent ink.

It is a real animal, the Vampire SQUID, originally identified as an octopus. Do a Google or Yahoo search next time. And isn't it GIBBON instead of Gibbeon? I mean, that was a real monkeyballs comment you laid on us. HaHaHa!

Try to know your own world, people.
This is indeed a fake video. Animal Planet has had several video series about "What If" types of creatures. Taking current species (such as the octopus), and conjecturing how they would evolve in the future. It is fake, but it is done by the Animal Planet channel as an interesting excersize in the "what if".
But no...this one is not for real.

- this animal is real it is called Vampyro...
  which translated means "vampire squid from hell".
  it is a deep sea animal found in most tropical waters from 3,000 - 10,000 feet and deeper.
  it has 10 tenticle which makes it neither a squid or octopus and i has the largest eyes in relatioship to it's body then any other animal.
  the grow to be about 6-12 inches

Vampire?
I saw no indication that this creature had any particular affinity for blood. I agree that it's defense mechanism is interesting, but by far, no match for a multitude of other critters. The infinite animal and insect kingdom is full of amazing defense methods.
