    • nice tutorial

just started on using photoshop, and as a beginner i find it somewhat difficult to navigate and use the icons and tools but somehow with these tutorials has helped me gain a little knowledge on the basics and has helped me to start playing with it, and thanks to guys like you on putting this kind of teachings for us who do not have the time to go to proper schooling for this kind, but there are other things that i wanted to know more about this apps that i could use in the future like trimming some portions of the picture and have the ends met, i.e. enhancing the picture.

i find your tutorials very helpful and clear, so i hope you would post more. thanks!!!

      • Thanks So Much

I have been playing with photoshop 7 and now cs for about a year now, Trying to restore some older photos. using the healing brush, and clone tools, levels and curves. Just learning, reading, and your tutorials are very nice. jpg are nice files but I have read somewhere that the native photoshop, and png file format is better to retail quality, but not everybody can view the psd and png files. Keep the tutorials coming, you are doing great, thanks again.

I meant retain quality. I scan old photos into the computer and after naming the photo, I put in the resolution and orig, and never change the originals. For example. 1994, Uncle Bob fishing, 300dpi, Orig.psd Then when want to use the file in Photo shop, I copy the file change the pic file in Photoshop, and rename the file changing orig, to alt. that lets me know that this is not the original file but one that is altered, All the original files are kept in an originals files folder. as you learn photoshop, it is nice to have the original pic, always keep a copy of the originals. keep a backup of all photos, you will be glad you did

        • Checkmark Constrain Proportions

At play time 1:35 of video you will see the image resize box or when you open your image size you will see a small box in the bottom of the sub-window. It says Constrain Proportions- CHECK the Box. and now when you change the dimensions in either Height or Width the other will AUTO Change.

Also if you Free Transform photos- make sure the constrain proportions toggle link is pressed down in the Tool Properties Bar at the top of the page.It looks like a chain link- if you do not know watch my video post describing the workspace for you... you will see this at 1;00 into the video. here is the link:
