The pilot is attempting a crash landing without gear and succeeds.
Whoever edited this video is stupid. It keep going backward for first 40 seconds rather than going forward.
By La Pyae Win 1236298121 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI did a gear up landing in a Piper Arrow. OK, wasn't by accident, but I was amazed at how amazingly straight the plane dragged onto the runway. Sadly, I landed at the *intersection* of the two runways for the airport (HIO) and closed the airport for a few hours until my plane could get cleared. And yes, I flew that plane again, the first ferry flight to bring it back from the repair shop back to the home field.
They have a saying in flying with regard to gear-ups: there are those that have, and those that will. I just changed states.
And I learned that day that not paying attention to check lists could be the last time I fly or breathe.
Even though as a pilot, I have undergone training on how to do emergency landings and all, still doing it in real situation is very different.

Hello guys i'm a commercial pilot since1994 and i've 1100 hours of flying experience, what you people are seeing is part of our routine training, i totally agree with my friend here
By intruder2007 1177885462 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehow many times do i have to see it approachin?
By em88il 1168885059 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveA good landing is a landing you walk out of it alive.
By bremex 1151627269 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis pilot did a good job of landing, but the truth is that he took off over gross and blew a tire which destroyed the hydralic system. Ignoring standard procedures has caused too many accidents like this one.
This is a hawker aircraft and the center of the aircraft has a long skid rail for just this type of situation when the gear wll not come down.
The flames probably came from the lower sump areas that are right at the wing root.
And no one was hurt, Except for the poor Hawker.
Well done that pilot, really couragus, and shows, even though I bloody hate flying, he's my man! I'd have him as my pilot anyday!
By DJ Danny 1145980028 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat was very usual during the second world war when enemy fire had damaged the gear. But then they often landed on fields and not airports.
By Kapten-N 1145136102 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGood point, I just want to point out that landing on dirt is much more dangerous because the plane can flip over due to the uneven ground. Runways are much smoother and the plane slides much easier instead of digging into the soft ground.
By adzim4 1205004075 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe pilot did an amazing job. That was a very controlled crash landing. He did a great job.
By Still_in_Iraq 1144486551 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removea bit scared of flying , but with that pilot .. i can travel with comfort and calmness

By lets see.... 1143992576 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit was good of him 2 keep circling cos he used up fuel which otherwise could have caused a huge fire and explosion etc.
By Audi man 1142971901 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThats what planes usually do, dump a whole load of aviation fuel right over a major city. No sarcasm its true. They do it so if they crash there wouldn't be a big explosion
The majority of planes dont have the equipment on them to dump fuel. And you, you brainwashed antiamerican.
By oracle989 1156106637 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFuel is highly explosive in vapour form, and much less so in liquid form. Simply put, it'd be much more likely to explode if it had near bingo fuel. The plane didn't explode simply because it's fuel tank was tough enough
By jmmtn4aj 1146995822 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNerves of steel.....You da man
The pilot makes all he can do: landing alive. Well done.
By Nassio 1131760599 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveExceptional skill greasing it in like that
By aircraftmechanic.org 1143725505 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI am a tower controller and also a pilot, much of what was posted earler is very true, but we train so many times over and over its almost routine, whats not routine is your heartbeat when is not a drill. BTW the crash crew is on scene, you can see the trucks positioned at different points along the runway

By Sexy_bitch123 1149943424 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removemovies. Where did you get this from?
By Keen Eye 1179531215 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou are a pilot and controller? Only the airlines and busn. pilots flying jets will train this type of maneuver over and over. Not private pilots. You can't be both.
The guy talking is the idiot. First he said the pilot is afraid to land, I don't know how he would know that, then he follows that with an other moron type statement that the plane is catching fire even though the pilot used most of the fuel. He not only contradict himself, but tells the world he does not know what he is talking about and should just be quiet.
Right at the end of the belly landing, puffs of black smoke and flames came out of either side of below the cockpit. Did the entire plane explode?
By 1131367269 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removecontrolled contact with the runway. Long even attitude, avoiding more contackt with contact and fire

By khadidja 1130934468 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat pilot made an excellent landing, but shouldn't they have foamed the runway? Any firefighters out there?
By 1130890525 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeall these crap about foaming the runway is an urban legend. think of it. if u foam the runway then the plane will slip and go on until it hits something and stops. take my word i am a fireman
By ggaga 1133506543 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewell the stupid firemen were supposed to be there before the landing. the airport had to be informed that they plane was going to crashland there. stupid firemen drinking coffee and eating doughnuts
you aviation stud you.
By euro-peons; a-boot 1137647727 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removetarmac/concrete doesnt catch fire so why foam the runway! It'll be like cars on ice!

By 1130691668 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe fuel tank didn't explode. thx god......
By 1130686541 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit says it didn't have enough fuel even for another circling; he had to land. no threat to the fuel tank then; it was wise.
By 1130693874 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit´s a bigger risk that the tank explode when it´s empty, it´s then filled with gas fumes, but it´s a bigger risk to be BBQed if it´s filled with fuel.
By sandorice 1131098171 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei did that with my car once.....
By 1130673662 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDid the pilot forget the landing gear?
