“Aseema - beyond boundaries” – A heartwarming film on the resilience of a woman
Aseema - beyond boundaries is a film based on the widely acclaimed Oriya novel “Aseema”, written by noted Oriya poet/author/novelist Mrs. Sailaja Kumari Aparajita Mohanty. Aseema is produced by Kabi Mohanty and directed by Sishir P. Mishra, with Shamir Tandon who has scored the soulful music of Aseema.
It is a heartwarming story based in Orissa of the eighties and nineties- a story that shall appeal to Indian audiences across the globe; a story that shall redefine relationships and rediscover unadulterated love.
Gracy Singh plays the character of “Aseema” in the film which is based on the resilience of a woman; the strength of her character and her conviction. The film elevates womanhood to a new domain - and presents her disciplined determination and patience to achieve her goals single-handedly.
The film also highlights the essence of true love - love that does not understand the boundaries of age and time; love that can wait endlessly; and love that can be giving without any expectations. It looks at never before explored definitions for love - a story that has never been told on Indian or world cinema. The film promises to be a roller-coaster ride of multiple emotions - innocence, dreams, hope, expectations, deceit, rejection, dejection, determination, sacrifices, ego, misunderstandings, patience, disappointments, surprises, and confusion.
Along with Gracy Singh playing the lead character, the other star-cast of the film includes Aseem Merchant, Neha Pendse, Kiran Kumar, Namrata Thapa, Surendra Pal, Aryan and Siddhant. Director Sishir P. Mishra has also directed well-known sensitive subjects previously like the classics of the eighties; Bheegi Palkein (starring Smita Patil) and Samay ki Dhara (starring Shabana Azmi).
