First off, williamtell, he isnt tossing in variables. That thing that looks like a g is the way he writes a 9. I have seen a lot of my students write this way, and I correct them.... anyhoo.

The way this is done is a manipulation of positive/negative. The third to last step IS true... since (0.5)^2=(-0.5)^2. However, the illegal operation occurs when the squareroot is taken off both sides. We are tricked into assuming that BOTH sides equal (0.5)^2. I make the equation true, the stop after (0.5)^2=(-0.5)^2, if squareroots are taken, should be (2-(3/2)) = -(1-(3/2)).

    Dropped negatives are a bitch.

i said this last time you posted this crummy video. if you take an equation and throw something in it without a variable that doesnt mean 2=1. for example you made up the 2-3/2=1-3/2. if i said 6-4=2-4 that doesnt mean 2=-2 just because i said something in an equation before. next time post some actual math.
