and the ring may well have been set up to break like that, but it's still amusing. And real injuries do occur. Of course they do. Ballet is choregraphed but the dancers still get hurt sometimes. Fake or not, it can be dangerous if something goes wrong, someone doesn't do what they're supposed to etc. Those EMT's may have been there for a real reason. Maybe they got delayed somewhere. Then again they could've easily been part of the act, and to be honest, most likely were. The point I always make abotu stuff like this is thus - if it's fake, why get so worked up about it. Dont get me wrong... it is obvious that the wrestlers are not injuried but the reason they stopped must have been that the ring broke. My brother did some professional wrestling for a few years. They are taught that if something happens that isnt supposed to happen to stay still. Also wrestling does hurt.. it leave bruises, and stings like a bitch but is usually safe. I think the ref was stunned that the ring broke... though he did take too much time checking on the guys. The wrestlers were moving slightly but did the right thing by not getting up. The ref came to them asked them a few questions before calling out the EMTs. By the way the WWE has ambulances wanting just off stage in case someone is hurt... thats way the EMTs did have boards. Do you really thing any of them could lift Big Show? Anyways I am positive it was real but that no one was seriously injured.

This was very much staged. While most things in wrestling are staged, accidents and mishaps do happen and people do get hurt. This was not one of those times. I've been watching wrestling for 20 years because it entertains me. In that time, I've come to learn alot about the sport and everything involved with it. Those rings support ALOT of weight. How the hell do you think they pull off the Royal Rumble which supports 30 men in the ring at the same time? I'm sure that's a hell of alot more weight than these two people combined 15 times over and they do alot of moves at the same time in these rings. They are made up of steel beams in rows coverd by cushioning springs, sections of plywood, and ontop of that, the canvas mat that you see. Anybody with a keen eye and has watched wrestling for any amount of time, knows that it is choreographed. The ring "implosion" was rigged to happen at the exact moment that they landed. Notice the ring doesn't immediately collapse when they hit the mat. It sits for a few seconds before it falls even when nobody is moving. I've even heard of people at live shows describing how Big Show did a moonsault off the top rope (a backflip from the top rope landing on his opponent) with the ring not breaking. If you ask me that would be considerably more impact than what was seen here. Hell, I've even seen Stone Cold Steve Austin drive a damned beer truck that hit the ring and it didn't fall over or barely budge so if you honestly think that this was real, then you are either very naive, very misinformed, or an idiot that refuses to believe this stuff is staged. I love wrestling, but I've known for years upon years that it is staged.

In the case of a real injury in wrestling, the ref does not motion for paramedics to come out like he did in this video. If someone is really injured and requires medical attention, either they will continue the match and work through the injury or in the cast that the injury is very serious then you will see the referee make an "X" sign over his head to indicate a real injury, a signal for the real medical attendants to come out, though lately the WWE has caught on that people know the difference between a real and storyline inury by ref signs so sometimes you will see a ref throw up the "X" sign even if an injury is fake to make all the "smart" fans believe that it is indeed a real injury. Their job is to make this kind of stuff look real. To the untrained eye, it does look real because you don't know what to look for. To those of us who have been watching it for years, it doesn't take long to realize when something is and is not supposed to happen.
