only the home edition of XP comes with no admin password set. And to say that you can unlock "most" computers this way is ludacris. the only computers this will work on are those belonging to computer illiterate soccer moms who can barely surf the internet. If your computer doesn't have an administrator password then you should set one like NOW, lol... and if you forget it then it's OK, google "linux boot disk" and have hours of fun kids!!

    • XP home is not the only edition that comes like this. XP Pro doesn't always ask for an administrator password on install. This would work on Windows Media Center as well, and it even works on Vista.

While most people that know anything about computers would have an Administrator password, you would be surprised by how many people actually have not set one.

    • That's true but

Not everyone has time to use the boot disc. And 90% of computers come configured this way, at least they did on XP. Not too sure about Vista yet, so the chances of this working are pretty good if it was a store bought computer.

iv known this little trick for ages. u dont need a boot disc or anything. what u r loggin in to is a kind of boggy account. the only problem is, is that some computers, mainly dell, hav this boggy account disabled.
anyway...this trick has really helped me out a few months back wen i needed to hack some1s pc for some coursework...IT WORKS GREAT!!!
