Get a supply of the tags and walk around the store planting them on random people and shopping carts. What would happen if you placed one on the exit gate sensor itself? The thing would never shut off !!!

I did this once to a friend in the University library. I put a porno mag in his bag with a security strip from a library book inside the mag. We he tried to leave the library he set the alarm off and had to empty his bag infront of the middle aged, middle class librarian who was not amused. But we were!

Technically the UPC scanner at the checkouts do not demagnetize the strips. There is a device at the left hand side of the scanner that does the job. You will notice a gray plastic warning sign of its presence. At the Automotive and Sporting goods checkouts they are much larger and more noticeable. Normally they are always on.

The tag he shows is called an "EAS label". There's RF and magnetic-stripe EAS labels, and stroking either type with a magnet won't do anything. RF EAS labels cannot be re-activated if they are de-activated, and magnetic-stripe EAS labels can't be deactivated at all. ...And the video where he says to glue a magnet to your shoe to change traffic lights? That one is false too.

I use to work at walmart and I had access to a huge box of those containing about 100 per sheet. I was always fun tagging shopping carts, but I found they are not as reliable when stuck to metal. Also magnetizing it deactivated it. The door sends a pulses to the strip inside and waits for a ping. there is a second strip inside that if you magnetize itl disrupt the ping.

How is it the magnetized strips set off the alarms at the door but the regular magnet doesn't? Or does it? Never tried it.

is to throw a box of condoms in someone's loaded cart and follow them to checkout and watch how that goes down!

This culd be a good low-risk shoplift hack test... that if you brought a magnet in you could activate then deactivate the bar... or better yet line a jacket w/ tinfoil or the like...or anything tht blocks magnet waves... and activate the bar and see if it goes off... of course you shuld nvr shoplift...thts bad... as im listening to "free" ipod rite now

THis has happened to me once.. not because of the prank .. but actually sticking one to my hand.

ive been wondering for SO long how to get them to work again... so i can just keep walking out of a store in the mall, say FYE, and after they realize im not stealing that there sensors are fucked and i stopped getting searched, then i start stealing.... but ne ways does it work with the ones on CDs??

and for ink tags... if u pull hard enuff and fast enuff u can gettem off w/o the ink getting out, worked for those 80$hats ne ways.... or for thinnner clothes, use a small pair os scissors and cut the clothes and remove it, later sew the small hole.... easiest ways...

once I worked in a clothing department and I had forgotten one of the clothing devices in my pocket. I went to a computer store and set off their security on the way in, it was hillarious the security guy looked confused because I was on my way INTO the store.

if u bend the tags they wont work anymore or with alminum foil wrapped on any label wont work either these tags are easy to defeat and they will always be no further than 3" radious from the UPC so grab a magnet pass it around the package if u cant see the tag and it will deactivate ;)

u should be working in supermarket since u know these things.well i work in one too in india.
the tags over here are similar but they dont demagnetize,they r enclosed in a packetwhich we cut off while billing so people cant play a prank atleast on my store.well wht r ink tags...
well i will tell u how to remove the tags frm the packet so u can play the prank when u come to india some time..... i will release the video soon....

Once I accidently picked up one of those, when it was on the floor. It stuck to my trousers and when alarm went off, the secirity guy wanted to strip me.:) Well, fortunately it fell off befor he did that.:)
