    Our Army is so PC that it is ineffective. However our standard Marines are better equipped and prepared than any fighting force in the world. If we start to get into special forces it is not even a contest.

    The way military is deployed and used is another story. We might be the worst in the world.

      the best marines in the world are the dutch(the oldest marine cor in the world) and the english (the practice together). its proven all over the world in practice with other counteries ( also with america) . and if we talk about special forces how about the sas or bbe. and if you look on the internet witch counterie won most of its wars you will find that the english are number one with no war lost and the dutch are number two with one war lost. so you dont have to do a test just look at the facts . and that america is pretty good at wars is the fact that they have a very big army . but they have one problem and that is there big mouth.

      You say the English haven't lost a single war? Here's an obvious one they lost, the Revolutionary War. They seemed to have lost that one, since the USA happens to be around. Or how about the Hundred Years' War (1337-1453), as it's come to be known? The French kicked the English out of their country by the end of that one. Crack open a history book will you?

      in the revolutionary war they went from war to peace , no looser in this war . and in the 100 year , at the end of the war england got out of franch. but they never declared peace , on paper they are still at war but no one talks about it . who has to look in a historie book .

      I should have known I would be caught by the military experts. You speak as if you have first hand knowledge, how many Americans have you personally "blown away" during "head to head" competition?

      If only we had someone of your wisdom during WWII we could have saved countless lives. You could have told all of our soldiers to stay home. We had no idea the Dutch and English were so capable.

      You might want to let the Queen know she never lost any war. we have gone ahead and set up a Government and everything over here.

      ww2 has nothing to do with it , but speaking of first hand knowledge there are competition all over the world . in does competition alied forces train togehter . and in does competition most of the time the english and dutch win .

    For you dumb a**'s that aren't from the U.S.A, I'm sorry to say but U.S.A has the greatest armed forces in the WORLD. It may be because we have better training, better tech, or simply that we spend 48% of the worlds budget on our military, but we still are the best.

  • Definitely Not "Best Armed"

    The title is totally wrong. America has the best ARMED military overall than anyone in the world. Not many countries come close to fielding the weapons we have at our disposal.

    Even being an American, I will admit that performance-wise, we aren't completely the best in the world. Every country has something that their armed forces excel at.

    Just to rattle off two examples, the US has a navy that no one can come close to, having 12 operational carrier groups (10 of which are Nimitz-class Supercarriers) and 12 in reserve. The Israelis probably have some of the top fighter pilots because of their constant fighting in the Middle East.

      It is hard for those who have no first hand knowledge to understand the awesome war machine that is the Carrier Battle Group. US Nimitz class Carriers are the greatest projection of military force the world has ever seen. Period. There is no argument there.
