  • it doesn't say what compound

this must not be an abrasive compound. The job time would be cut in half with a light compound followed by a nice non abrasive wax... but the speed of the cable would probably have to be reduced a bit. The chance of burning would be higher too. Please tell us what products are being used with this.

    • Poorboys SSR3

It's in the video but Metacafe's ad covers it up.

It's Poorboys SSR3 & a Meguiars cutting pad...and this combo is a very aggressive combo. A light compound or polish wouldn't make a dent in this paint.

This is actually 15yr old neglected paint and it shows that with the right product/pad combo, a Dual Action Orbital Polisher (Porter Cable 7336/7424) can remove some heavy oxidation and swirls.

The DA does take longer to break down a polish then with a rotary....but because it oscillates and isn't a direct drive like a rotary, you have far less risk of damaging or burning through your paint with it.
