Cats were brought to Cyprus decades ago during a plague of snakes to keep them under control. However, the number of cats were not controlled,. Now, hundreds of cats roam Cyprus have no home to go to and are neglected.

This is one of the animal shelters in the centre of Paphos that has its doors open to all cats and is funded by donations and run by volunteers. While we were there, a space of 30 minutes, there were 10 new arrivals. Out of the 20 or so kittens that were there that day, only one survived, which was in fact the one we bottle fed.

    Nice video. I was thinking about doing something similar sometime. I dunno though. I'm too shy to try to bring it up with someone. ^^; As for the comment about not caring about animals because there are people suffering, I say why can't we care about both? I know sometimes you have to choose one way or the other, and in those cases, we can make the choice. But just because people are suffering, doesn't mean we can't care about animals AT ALL, you know? I hope things get better for everyone, really...
