  The night vision option on camcorders these days use an infrared spot light to film in dark light settings, it doesnt show color, you may be thinking of thermal camera imagery where hot is shown in red and cold in blue. There might be some merrit to this but i think its just a big smelly steamer, i would make him go outside too if he was blowing gas like that in my house!
