wow what a day at the zoo
This happened at Jersey Zoo in the Channel islands.
The Silver back Gorilla was call Jambo who died a few years later.
There is a monument in his name at the zoo. He was a beautiful friendly creature.
The reason why nobody went in for a while is because the Gorilla needed to be sure that the boy wasnt going to be harmful and he was protecting his own family.
Those people that know anything about Gorillas know that they are territorial and do not like their space invade, Remind you of anyone???????
The boy was absolutely fine and was the contributor to Jambos brass sculpture.
For I'm being attacked by animal right activists !! If the gorrillas are peaceful beings then why the rush by the bystanders to that child's aide to get him out that desparate situation. Maybe it's me, but the gorillas don't appear to be 1st aide trained.
By N2BLAQUER 1175271035 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeold video - but always a classic - once again proving how misunderstood gorillas are and how arrogant humans are in believing they are the only ones capable of kindness. There has never been a case of a gorilla killing a human - too bad we can't say the same thing about us
By Tugari 1175217785 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei woulda jumped in their along time ago to protect that kid..
By Freaknawesomekid 1171062747 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat child had angels looking after him because those gorillas could have tore him apart long before help arrived !!
The gorillas themselves deserve credit for their self restraint !!
They're vegetarians, not hunters. It's just Hollywood that tries to portray them as being vicious.
By mcg42 1170970542 Reply Spam [+6] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGorillas are peacfuly but and they are vegetarians but when you invade their space/ threaten their young they'll fight til the death.
According to http://www.koko.org/about/facts.html
It says this
PREDATORS
"Man is gorilla's only enemy. Because of the actions of male gorillas protecting their groups with such determination from hunters, humans developed a folklore about the ferocity of gorillas. Gorillas' defense of standing and chest-beating make them a perfect target. Like all tightly knit social groups, gorillas will defend their young. They defend them with their lives."
You need to watch the Discovery Channel or Animal Planet or at least go back to school before you make comments about gorillas - you obviously don't know anything about gorilla behavior
By Tugari 1175217940 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYeah. Gorillas have only one enemy, human
By suntop 1170919102 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWho the crap was filming that they are morons.
That kid needed help.
If no one was filming - how would you have seen the video - Use your head
i hope the kid is alright? does anybody know?
By scatsp 1170891443 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe kid's name is Kevin and it was a long time ago - in the 80's. Kevin has since become a zoologist himself and works with gorillas. Jambo the silverback had passed away a few years after the incident from natural causes - a statue is erected at the zoo in his honor.
By Tugari 1175218273 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI remember seeing this on the news years ago and I believe he fully recovered.
By Wiffle Ball Tony 1170895604 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe question I would like answered is how the F**k did that kid fall into a place like that. poor parenting
