I've been practicing a cooler version of this trick, where the card appears in an orange. :P
Jojo is correct, but there's a little bit more to it. The magician emphasized the fact that the torn quarter matched perfectly- that's because the torn corner is from the folded card, not from the torn card. When he tears up the card he palms it in his left hand, putting it on top of the 5th corner. :) The orange one is cooler, but this isn't too bad.

I know how he did it
after he puts the ripped card in the wallet when he sets it down he flips the wallet. so that it is on the oppossite side. both sides of the wallet look the same. there was a precut card on the other side. watch carefully and you will notice
