OK, so it goes like this: what the driver was doing is called "lane surfing" and like Bram says, only can be done in a car with sufficiently powerful acceleration and brakes... I have been iin many cars with EXPERIENCED drivers doing only a little of this on a motorway when the road conditions allow. Some people drive real slowly and it seems to encourage a little bit of mad driving on occasions. t's not big or clever, but if you are the passenger, it is fun! especially seeing the faces of people in the cars that you are zipping past.
Tha accusation of dangerous driving is brought up - and is correct - because he was following and chasing the VW ahead of him, who was also lane surfing. Not very smart or clever of either of them. The funny thing that the lead car clearly indicated that he was coming of the motorway at the next junction and wally with the camera didn't see it in time and follow (Ha Ha)
LETS NOT FORGET that the driver was silent and all you could hear was the sound of the car's engine, and gear changes (this kind of thing would not be able to be done in an automatic because the gear changes would not be fast and effective enough) All you saw was the camera looking in and following the route taken.
Also note that we heard nothing of the driver, but I bet that when the camera stopped, he phoned his friend - who ducked off the motorway ahead of him - and had a swearing match!
It's definately filmed somewhere in Europe or even Russia (likely since the clip name is "Russian style driving" but driving like this goes on everywhere) However if it was the UK then long before it got to 2 minutes, the motorway constabulary would have radar trapped you and hauled you to court and 3-6 points on your licence. Not the US even though crazy driving like this also goes on there on the interstates...

however the very first day of my class the teachers first tested us on the reallity of accidents. they brought up situations where how would you react to the death of a family member from a racing accident and are you prepared to face this emotions.
so i want to make this clear to everbody, when a man is driving like that he knows exactly what he's doin, it may seem stupid to amatures like the people calling him an idiot, but to me and professional racers, that is ART. he knows exactly what he's doing, he knows exactly what his car is capable of, he even knows the exact length of his car so he doesn't need to be worried when switching lanes. he is so concentrated on his driving that he can tell which lane is empty before he makes a move, notice he didn't even have any music on to distract him.
this is beautiful and i give all the respect in the world to this guy, so stop hating on him, and if you want to make the road safer, get out the way and stay to the right, i believe most accidents are not caused by speeders, yet people who drive TOO slow and cause people like us to get crazy and speed to pass them.

All you people talking about endangerment, distracting other drivers, the like...I really think you're making biased comments under the assumption that if anyone disagrees with you, you can go 'Oh, some punk kid, his opinion doesn't matter.'
Point number one - If you're distracted by that, you shouldn't be on the road in the first place and you'd be having a wreck anyway the first time somebody pointed a shiny object at you.
Point number two - This was completely safe. He slowed down when he didn't have a proper opening and sped up when he was all in the clear. The dodge behind the two trucks was a little slim, but the fact is, this guy knew when to take his shot, so there's no danger involved.
Moral of the story?
If you've got the skill to do the driving, it's perfectly safe. The people who shouldn't be doing it are the ones who overestimate themselves and try something they shouldn't. Leave the people that CAN do it the hell alone.
Aaaas for the content itself, the first half he just follows Mr. Blue, the second got a little more interesting. Like I said, that dodge past the two trucks would've made me a little nervous.

i did read alot of the comments here and i just can't agree or disagree to one single comment because all are right and wrong at the same time

so basicly for a car driving guy it is thrilling to do such thing yet fatal to him and to every one that is on the road... we should all keep both facts in our heads, the way someone weights those two facts is the judging factor in doing such act or not

now i'd like to add that accedents are all destiny that is decided by God so you could go lane surfing all your life and never crash and you could be a safe driver and get involved in a wreck or two. personnaly i have done my share of lane surfing and crazy stuuf but i never crashed during so... funny enough almost every time i dent my car its during very slow traffic and almost every time it is not my fault
now don't get me wrong as i am not promoting for wreckless driving... i am just saying that if you are destined to be involved in an accedent then you will surly will regardless of your driving style 'cause it was decided by God.again God gave man the bless of having brains so you should know by simple common since that lane surfing makes you more volunrable to crash rather than driving safly so you should be drivng safly at all times to keep the risk at a minimum... risk can't be illiminated as you don't control your fate
i had my share of fun during lane surfing when i was younger and not commited... i won some races and lost others and it was cool... i also had my share of hary moments and frighting stuff (talk about spinning off the road at 120 km/h at a sharp corner while attempting to take over a car going at 80 km/h) luckly no one ever got hurt due to my crazy actions
now i am older and commited and soon will be a family man... i can't just do something stupid anymore and put my family at risk, this is puting more pressure on me to stop doing wreckless stuff like that, 10 years ago that wouldn't matter to me at all but now it does and it has top priority... it is called "growing up"
one more thing: as much as doing that is thrilling; the bitterness of having an accedent is tenfold all the thrill you ever got before so if you did do some of that crazy stuff and get away with it then be greatful to God and stop doing it while you still have your libs attached to your body... yes it is that horrable

The driver must have had nerves of steel. A Kamaz driver changing lane without checking the mirrors is a common sight. The driver has very little time to find an opening to pass by without rear ending some slower vehicle. If the first car would have been confused for a split second in what he was doing behind the wheel they both would have rear ended a trailor or slower passenger car. At that speed you can have 10 airbags or none, you´re dead anyway.
On the other side, the adrenaline rush must have been great plus you have video proof for your friends to show off (I know I would boast about it).

excuse my english since its not my mother language.
it is fun and not as dangerous as it seems if you know what you're doing. many american drivers who have not seen any other country may think that this is insane. if you learn driving in a country where 17 million people live in a city like Istanbul, you kind of get use to driving like this. dont get me wrong im not saying this is the right way to drive. it is insane. but it is all different than in america. highway lanes are tighter and drivers are always aware. the dont have cruise control in many cars. its almost impossible to keep a constant speed.
when i see videos about american people going crazy with their powerful cars, it is always about speeding as much as possible. its not all about speeding in europe. its about your weight, your dimensions, your brakes and any possiblity that you may face during racing. with a huge population like 17 million in a city, it is almost impossible for the police to catch you especially if you know where they hide. and even if they catch you speeding or ruthless driving they will fine you with no more than 100 $ or you can bribe for 30$ or less. it is all different than america. the systems different.

This normal driving in Russia (MKAD). The driver normal, and the car allows, enables. I live here. Speed of a stream of 80-110 km/hours. Restriction of speed - 100 km/hours. Usually people goes within the limits of 80-140. Sometimes more quickly on so much, how much the car allows, but is rare. In a situation on video, I think speed of a stream 90-110. The driver from video is accelerated up to 130-150 (imho), it does not turn out any more:)

I spend half my time in Russia, and believe me that people drive worse than on this video. I've done worse a few times... being in a pursuit like this, even toying around with the other one's by keep circling around him and crossing his lane...
back then it was pretty fun (he did start it all first, not me!!!)

Driving like this is not about being cool. it's about the excitement and thrill in this.
If it wasn't for thrill, it would be because i'm in a hurry and the stupid slow ass drivers are occupying all the lanes and there's no fast lane for me. So i have to zig zag between the cars.
You cannot believe how exciting driving like that, and you better see the look on my friends face ...lol
I never caused an accident and if everybody stays calm nobody gets hurt, the problem is when some dump driver reacts wrong after passing him.

There are 2 cars doing it. Other drivers may not be so confident in their driving skills. This means they may swerve due to the first car and cause a nasty accident with the second, or other innocent people on the road. I admit they show excellent driving ability, but should only do it on a track where other people are safe.

Ok... first of all american cars are not limited in speed idiot. In fact the only cars not allowed in the states are ones not street legal anywhere else in the world. We are allowed to mod the S**t outta any car we have. I know a kid who salvaged an opel speedster, took the turbo out and switched it for a dumptruck turbo modded by a garret turbo techinician. Secondly, automatic is a choice. There is no law on manufacturing or owning an automatic or manual. The reason most people choose automatic is cuz they don't spend all their time racing the streets like MOST PEOPLE! Manual also doesnt give an increase in speed, real power yeah right, the only advantage of a manual is quicker gear changes, that way you can change as SOON as you hit those high end RPM's instead of 2 seconds after. Since a camera was on board, maybe for gathering evidence, could this have been an expert high-speed police crew in pursuit of the crazy driver in the blue car ahead? When the camera car eventually moves into the fifth right-hand lane the camera pans to catch sight of the delinquant driver I think. Otherwise the five lanes were well used by a variety of different traffic weights (cars and trucks) but more importantly. . .well spaced to allow for emergency stopping distances! If you thrill to traffic conditions, take a look at the clip on a Saigon City junction. . . . and when you recover wonder if this is a legacy of the USA presence!? I've driven around many cities in this world and Saigon is a definite no no.
