Richard Hammond, co-presenter for BBC's "Top Gear" tried to break the english land speed record in a jet-powered car and crashed while doing about 400 km/h.
He suffered severe injuries, including brain injury, but miraculously he survived and is presenting his own accident in the new season of TG.

This guy is GREAT
Not only does he have the NADS to defy death and disaster, he has a GREAT sense of humor regarding the personal effects of such disaster.
I hope to see more of him, but, more importantly, I really , REALLY hope he lives to a ripe old age. Mankind does not make too many men of this caliber.

- To be in the record books you must maint...
  given speed for a measured mile and complete a return run within in an hour. Drag racing is a different thing all together. And in case you forgot (or didnt know), the world land speed record is held by a British car with a British driver.
