This video is brought to you by: http://www.pcmichiana.com/. This video goes over a well known myth that clearing out the prefetch in your Windows XP system will speed up your computer. In reality, you want to make sure you do not clear the prefetch in your Windows XP system because the prefetch is designed to create an index of files Windows XP deems necessary to store into your system memory. Essentially, it's like the index of a book, when you ask Windows XP to open a program, it grabs the index out of your prefetch so that it can cache the files listed in that index into system memory. In non-geek terms, this is a good thing that actually speeds up your computer, let windows manage it.

I hate to ask, but it's the first question I always need to ask, what graphics card do you have and did you install the latest video drivers for it on XP. It is not an OS issue, I played CS Source on my XP without a hitch, so it's definitely a software or driver issue.

That's actually an emulation issue - games designed with Vista in mind often have issues in XP and vice versa - what games in particular are you having issues with? Typically you need to patch them through the company website when you are trying to play them in vista.
