  • Nothing like-

Boxing- Boxers don't jump up and down, there feet move but correct technique by a boxer uses that foot work to get angles on the other guy-sorry but these guys are joke-I don't know what to call this except funny-I do agree with switch blade about the jumping part, just time him and go-Did anyone else notice that thier hands are down at thier sides?

  • A shame to the real world of country

This is a sop dance or what, If you want to see real karate , search for kyokushin. The likes of taxeira matsui and filho will give you a glimpse of real karate than this dance of two glz shown. Fighting needs power speed and more importantally the spirit. OSU!

  • i agree

It sure isnt anything like traditional karate that uses hand and kick combos and for sure no bouncing we like to go low and stay low better balance and more centered and it doesnt telegraph.

    • Screw Karate

Im willing to grant that Karate is effective when mastered but whats karate when you get taken to the ground. Like 90% of fights end up on the ground at one point or another. Study your Ju-Jitsu so you dont get pounded. Judo helps if your talkin real balance and control.

    • you do make one good point

to be a well rounded martial artist you do need to study ground techs in fact i would recommend a soft style even if you only study it for a year or two then learn a hard style like karate
i personally studied shinwa tiado (soft style)and am very glad for it however i also have studied kempo, kendo ,korean tkd and now shobiashi shorin ryu (hard styles). when i have to defend myself on the street i use a combination of both hard and soft styles and it does work.

  • Interesting

As a person with other martial arts background, it is hard for me to understand why they only used hand techniques and didn't incorporate any kicks. In fact they looked rather like boxing. Is kicking prohibited in karate sparring?
And it's interesting they were constantly jumping up and down. My taekwando mindset tells me that is a no-no, because at every moment you becomes airborne, you lost 100% of your stability. If your opponent could grasp that moment and attack, you would be a goner.

    • True enough

And also it telegraphs alot. Bouncing like that means that there are only certain points in time when he can attack, making the anticipation easier. That was a dumb video with some not too smart fighters.
