After driving the Moors out of Seville, Spain's King built a palace, using Moorish workers, that is the planet's most confused World Heritage Site. Over half of the Alcazar is Moorish, imitating Grenada's Alhambra, including its gardens. The balance of the Alcazar is a normal European palace. This clip is a segment of "From Flamenco to Fez", presenting a 2 continent, 3 country trip to Spain, Morocco, and Portugal.

It features Madrid, Toledo, Grenada (the Alhambra), Seville (Spain), Fez and Marrakesh in Morocco, Lisbon, & Fatima in Portugal, including a lavish Berber spectacle of music, dancing, and horse riding.

Guides & Some Guides Books are often Wrong...
From 10 year Spain resident expert and partner in MagicalSpain Travel & Events,-- the Alcazar predated the Castillian take over of Seville, in November of 1248. That's why the name Alcazar which is from Arabic is used. Also it seems the Roman had a fortress in the same general area.
