  • its called the dream of aces

you used double sticked taped in one of the three cards, so one of the aces will stick to it. very easy but powerful effect.

    • by the way

You can do Dream of aces without any gimmick too. Just changing it a little in performance.

    • It' not the dream of aces

      That's called Grampa's aces trick.
I prefer it than the dream of aces, because this uses normal cards. It's just a combination of color changing and double lifts, you don't need any tape or other sort of gimmick to perform it.
You can use it anyway, but I don't like very much to use gimmicks, expecially in card tricks.

    • so what

dream of aces doesnt even come with gimmicks. its just the mechanics and the double sided tape you need. you can use any other deck of cards. This trick is called the DREAM OF ACES.

    • well...

well I consider double tape a gimmick too. And this trick doesn't use anything but regular cards! This is the wonderfull thing of it I think! ^__^
Dream of aces is VERY similar, but not the same!
In Dream of Aces any ace pretend to be changed into another card, and you end showing 4 cards (as you showed before) for every vanishing, then the ace seems to be changed into another card; in granpa's aces (this trick) you use a more visual color change to make every ace vanish and you end showing 3 cards (starting with 4), so the ace appear to be vanished.

    • wow

its the same trick done with a different variation.
Just because the "granpa's aces" excentuates the colors doesnt mean its not the same trick. its Double sided tape and thats it. This trick is easy to learn and do as long as you know your control and know your timing of the cards. strictly showmanship.
Its a normal deck of cards with a couple of double sided tapes on some of them.

    • that's why

that's why I said it's different ^__^ in this trick there's NO kind of double tape, it's just a combination of double lifts and other card controls. This is done with right moves of your hands.
Actually you can do this with double tape too, but you can have the same result keeping the cards togheter with your hands. Thrust me it's possible: I did this video this way, without any tape.

  • Easy to see

Easy to see what you were doing. but of course to the untrained eye it looks like magic. Good work Although you did take a very long time to do this trick.

    • Maybe untrained eye...

This was recorded very long ago. I did it after I saw several times the performance of David Copperfield. I never did magic before, so my eye was "untrained", and certainly he did it better than me; anyway I found this way to do it, which is not the original one (I happened to learn the way Copperfileld did it long time after I did it this way).
Original routine, the one Copperfield do, with the right color changing, looks very much more impressive.
