Originally intended as a free replacement for the MS Paint software that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple tool for photo and image editing.
The programming language used to create Paint.NET is C#, with a small amount of C++ for installation and shell-integration related functionality.

I like the program however I don't believe that it is a new version of MS Paint, I believe that it is just an open source software.

Dear Caroxo,
I find this video very interesting. First is the ease of use (about the Paint software), second, most PC user here in the Philippines regardless of what type of Windows version they have will surely find this program very useful. In our present trends, people are becoming lazy in the sense they want to have a fast result for everything they are doin' under the sun. Microsoft Operating System is very popular here in the Philippines and Im sure they will love this new software for it is has great similarity with the Paint software already incorporated with any Windows OS.
