    Ive been in and out of bands for 20 years. Ive played guitar and bass for those 20 years and drums for only about 6 and am no where near as good as Joey from slipknot. Ill bet money that every single person here criticizing him cant even come close to his talent. Plus umm hes being flipped upside down! If you can do what he does, then put up or shut up and post a video off your awsome drumming skills and show us how you would do it. Until then, sit behind your pc and be a loser while he sits back with his millions he has made being a bad drummer... give credit where credit is due.. and no i DONT mean all of you, just those quick to judge..

    This guy is fast, but REALLY sloppy. His feet are all over the place -- totally uneven. Also, he has no idea how to construct a decent solo. There's more to drumming than just playing as many notes as you can.

    Listen to Mike Portnoy, Terry Bozzio, and Neal Peart. Those guys are the ones you should be imitating. Forget this Joey guy...

    joey is one of the most fascinating double bass drum of this decade... he's the most powerfull drummer i've seen till now... i agree there MAY BE drummers better than him... y'all can't just drum like him... In fact joey has 2 bass drum WITH ONLY 2 PEDALS, 2 snares, 5 toms in all, 12 cymbals & surely a hi-hat...
    he's too fast for ya, y'all can't even see with how many pedals he's beating with... pricks learn how to handle a drumstick first, then you talk drumming... f******* retards....

    I think the late Kame from Malice Mizer was pretty good in his drum duet with Gackt on the piano. You wouldn't think that a piano and the drums would make for a good duet but it was great! Kame in some of his solos was really good too. I love Malice Mizer.

    Joey's trick is drumming every which way but up? sideways and upside down too?

    First joey played jazz in his early years at school, he is palying 2 kick drums with 2 pedals. and his solo really isnt that good its just rolls and some kinda fast rolls on the double bass. And he isnt the 2nd fastest near the Slayer drumming. Go try morbid angel (drummer pete sandoval try hit solo or opening the gates) or Nile (= drummer George kollias). slipknot arnt death metal the 2 band i just said are death metal slipknot are metal.

    but i still don't understand what is it with people and speed... why is it so important to be as fast as this guy??.. drums weren't made to be played as fast as u can.. they're were made for rhythm.. what's the point of being so fast??.. play something cool, with feeling.. speed sure helps to do other things, but it's not everything... it's just a very small part of being a good drummer.. there are lots and lots of fast drummers.. so being "fast" ain't special anymore.. for all the drummers out there, focus on ur feeling, and in expressing something through drums.. and not on ur speed..

      Some of the best solos I've seen have been played at a low meter.. from the beginning a solo was never meant to show who could play faster. It's simply one expressing their thoughts through the instrument. IMO it seems so unimpressive to see that all he had on his mind was moving his arms (mind you not even wrists.. lack of technique; say hello to arthritis/tendonitis soon) as fast as he could. Check out guys like Gadd, Cobham, etc. Some drummers know that a solo is their expression of music to the listener and they do it well, coming up with something original every time. The buck doesn't stop at slipknot.. sorry to say.

      I agree with you...derek roddy can own joey jordison and its not like he only plays death metal, as he plays jazz beats as well....majority of death metal is just about machine gun double bass and fast rolls, combined with china trash cymbals and crap...being innovative with death metal music is what makes a drummer good...for instance, listen to faceless one by i, monarch...the drummer is using a double bass but he keeps alternating his feet between a splash and a hi hat...for the video check out www. derekroddy. com

    it's a cool show, but the drum solo itself is not that impressive.... try Marco Minnemann, or Thomas Lang, or Akira Jimbo.. etc....
    oh and one thing... playing 2 bass drums instead of 1 dual pedal, doesn't make any difference in difficulty..

      who gives a F**k that he uses two bases, it's not how fuckin many u have of it its how u use it and he uses it pretty damn good, so F**k u all, why dont u get to know this guy better he's in the metal history book for bein the second fastest drummer compared to slayers drummer in metal history, and he's even fast without the double base because back in his jr high days he was in band using the drums and he got kicked out from messin up the band to much cause he played to fast, and he perfers gauitar over drums any ways if you've seen him in the murderdolls, he's way better then that guy that does the solo during bat country from avenged sevenfold, this guy is more better then you think, and he aint no wanna be he's the real deal and if u buy slipknot 9.0 live, he's even way faster then this one.
