Mistake
It looks good, but you made a mistake.

2 (x-y) is equal to 2x-2y, therefore 2 (x-y) / x-y = 2x-2y / x-y

2x-2y / x-y = x-y. That is what you will end up with on the left side of the equation. And as we know that x-y=0, the answer is really 0 = 0/0
