What would you do then huh? You can not fuck with that shit. Soo the grapplers would take me down and GnP me right? The strikers would knock me out right? How you gonna do that with one ball?

By strike 1136327577 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTKD focuses mostly on kicks and breaking woods using punches and kicks. They have the best kicks in the world. For those of you who thinking TKD sucks because they're not in UFC, you guyz better think again. Martial arts such as Kung Fu, TKD, Karate, Judo; they're for lifestyle, to defend themselves and not to fight. They're sports and trained to strengthen their abilities. TKD and Judo are only two martial arts sports to make it to Olympics. Major Martial Arts can't be comparable because of history background and traditional ethics. TKD is not used for fighting because they have restrictions and limitations. They have pads around their body, helmets. If you're into fighting, then Muay thai, Brazilian Jiujutsu, Shootfighting Karate, Kickboxing, Boxing are suitable for you. TKD is known for the best kicks, Judo is known for tosses and strengthening backs, Boxing is known for punches, Karate is known for stances/forms, and there are few other martial arts known for abs, body, so on, where I can't name.

By gagoogagoo 1147712057 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeur right about that there the best!
but i use taekwondo and kick a**! i do it to beat people and it works!
When the UFC first began it was BJJ that dominated. Many Muay Thai people were beat. It didn't make that system useless in the ring. It just simply didn't have the ground aspects that BJJ does. This is partially why cross training in the UFC began. Now Muay Thai is indespensible as a stand up skill in the UFC. The most succesful fighters don't only use aspects from one system.
If one can learn to master many of those TKD kicks, then they can learn to use them in tandum with boxing strikes and jujitsu. I've seen many MMA fight where spinning back kicks to the abdomen, spinng back fists,
crescent kicks, and kicks to the head were used very successfully. Are these techniques not of TKD and Karate? I've bashed a few of your comments before but you should give you art more credit since you have so much faith in it. All it takes is just using those techniques and adapting them for the rules and pace of the UFC.
Any style of martial art is good. Ones who make less mistake leads to victory. Fighting, yet, require skillful techniques. However, it sometimes by luck like the paper, rock, and scissor game when the seconds count. One wrong move and you'll be left out cold. There is no one who is unbeatable. If so, he is simply did not encounter that right person yet. Have you ever beat by the person whom you used to beat before? ...There you go! It does happen once in a blue moon. Good Luck!

By mememememememe 1134504777 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMartial arts are very good for "street -fighting" no matter what you say. You don't ONLY learn high jump kicks, flashy fast moves, you learn tons of self- defence and you will feel alot more secure while in a fight with martial art training than without it. And just for the record, a Wing-Chun expert. can block virtually anything, the ultimate martial art..
By Nannari 1134080430 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI've beaten up some students in my school who took wing chun for 2 years. He thought he can kick my ass just because he took Wing CHun and wanted to start fight just because I told him to stfu. Before he even hit, i just brutally beaten the crap out of him. It was quite simple, I just kicked his chest, then pounded his face with my bare fist. Wing Chun student can't even counter my simple attacks? Bruce Lee also implied that WIng Chun is weak by beating up Kung Fu Masters shipping them back to China. Kung Fu Masters fought against Bruce lee because it was forbidden to teach non-chinese people how to use kung fu. He implied that Kung Fu was weak. And he didn't fight weak kung fu masters. He fought against Shaolin Kung Fu Masters, WIng Chun masters. He implied that Kung Fu was weak That's why he took other martial arts, such as Tae Kwon Do, boxing. Bruce Lee strengthened his kicks by taking Tae Kwon Do from Jhoon Rhee.
By Thoraii 1137641952 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTo all you people trying to insult Kung fu, the majority of which have never taken any real form of Kung fu, I just want to say how impressed i am
on how much bullshit you can spew. You beat up a second year Wing Chun student, congrats? You think this makes Kung Fu some how invalid, you beating a junior student in a weaker form of Kung Fu?
Try that with a senior student, or say a Hung Gar or Choy Li Fut student, they would walk through your BJJ bullshit.
UFC is a sport, and TKD little more than cheap tricks, neither are
practical for real fighting. Bruce lee left china, after being beaten, and those he did fight, we're students at the same level as him, oh and btw, he beat them with wing chun you moron. He never fought the masters, he never challenged the masters, he fought a senior student of another internal style, woop dy fricking doo! He didn't imply kung was weak, he said it wasn't perfect, absolutely true, but considering how much Jeet Kun Do borrows from Chinese martial arts it can't all be invalid can it.
Yes wing chun has weaknesses, it's flower hands, but please refrain from talking every time you have a synapse randomly fire, especially when it's obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about.
I agree with you. I am partial to Wing Chun, but believe in borrowing any techniqueI can learn to do well. I wouldn't consider Wing Chun a weaker form of Kung Fu. It lacks the power striking other forms of Kung Fu have but is
invaluable when in a clinch or extremely close fighting. Chi Sao drills develop contact sensitvity and thus produces reflex responses in a relatively shorter period of time than other arts do. It has some advantages. This
is why I supplement my Wing Chun with powerful boxing strikes at striking range. But when in close It's Wing Chun and Mauy Thai all way.
My bottomline here is TKD has the best kicks and that people should not say one martial arts is better the other because it really depends on a person. I said Wing Chun was weak because some some losers i replied to said Wing Chun is the ultimate martial arts and is better than TKD when it's merely martial arts for lifestyle with best defense and when it's not better nor worse than TKD. TKD is highly known everywhere and they have the best kicks in the world. Next best kicks are capoeira. I've seen TKD fighter beat the crap out of Karate, kickboxing fighters while tying with shaolin fighters. Go to youtube.com and type tae kwon do and you'll check out all the fights. Anyways, although you hvae a point, I hated kung fu when there were weakling assholes chinks in my school with kung fu background where I simply kick their asses and I've only taken martial arts for few weeks, simple karate in school, TKD for few weeks as white belt and I've seen pro TKD practicioners who run up, not only 3 steps, but a lot, doing hardcore kicks like these videos. I thought Wing Chun was weak because I am a noob fighter and i've beaten up wing chun students but while I was at TKD, i had no guts to fight tkd fighters who's been taking TKD for 2 years or over. And I assumed that WIng Chun sucked because I believe that two years of highly known martial arts should be enough to defend yourself.
By Thoraii 1138324347 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf two years of training is enough for you, then you must be very talented or blessed. I'm not knocking TKD. I have a lot of respect for it and would be cautious of the feet of any skilled person in TKD if I had to fight them. You may have witnessed many tournament fights where TKD was effective, but how many actual street fights have you seen with TKD? I've witnessed some with Wing Chun and believe me, it was effective.
How do you truly determine if two years is enough for proper self defense? How skilled were these "chinks" that you were fighting. ( I don't know what your ethnic background is, but I think that is wise not to refer to these people as "chinks" if your gonna continue to study an art developed by a people who are generally refered to as "chinks" by less informed racists). Some people just learn faster. Some are more talented and have greater physcial prowess. Others just have more fighting experience. Believe me when I say that I can find people with no formal training in any fighting system who can obliterate many people with years of experience in any system.
Not every system works for everybody. People have to believe in it and train with heart.
Congradulations on your victories. You may have beaten up some people who took Wing Chun, but that doesn't mean that it sucks. You could just be a better fighter with more natural talent or skill. I don't know what system you study or how you fight, but if someone got their ass beat by using your system or your way of fighting got beat, that doesn't mean that it sucks. Are you implying that you could beat anyone in a fight that studies Wing Chun. You should download some video clips of Emin Boztepe, a current legend in Wing Chun and martial arts all over the world. He is the real deal. Government, military, and law enforcement agencies all over the world seek his training. Do your research. This is a fact. I suppose these agencies including the U.S. are wasting thousands of dollars on a system that sucks. Those people you beat may just simply not be very good or have any real experience adapting Wing Chun to a real fight.
About Bruce Lee: He only fought one Kung Fu master who challenged him about his teachings. This master did not know Wing Chun. In fact, Bruce Lee's primary style at the time was Wing Chun. He used Wing Chun to beat this master. How could Wing Chun be weak if he beat a powerful Shaolin master with it. Bruce Lee never said that Wing Chun sucked. He just began to see it's limitations to a particular situation. No one fighting system can encompass every scenario. This is why he stressed cross training and came up with Jeet Kune Do concepts. In fact, Wing Chun principles are at the heart of JKD. No offense, but you should do better research before you post your comments for the whole world to see. I dare you to prove me wrong on this matter. Anyone who truly knows is laughing at your statements about Wing Chun and Bruce Lee.
In conclusion, systems and certain ways of fighting are not as important as the indvidual who uses them. Its a combination of talent, skill, and overall fighting experience that are the most important. Regardless of what you know, its how you interpret the system and knowledge of practical application in a real fight.

like Bruce Lee said, there are martial artist that show lots of fancy move and might just shock you, but he said to beware that these type of martial artist are like a wine that has been added by water which then would not be wine. Its true, if you look carefully, the man tries to kick an opponent with a spinnig kick, but by the time he's half way across he gets kicked striaght in the face. They might be good at this fancy trick stuff but may not be as smart or good during a real fight. Who knows.

Ok you obviously have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. You say that, "As soon as you raise your leg higher than your waist - you're so unstable and unmovable" That's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my entire life. Ever hear of K-1 kickboxing? Take a look at Mirko Filopovic from PRIDE FC. His signature move is a left high kick where he has knocked out numerous people. As if you weren't already the most ignorant person on the face of the Earth you then go on to pose the question, "Name me at least one full contact fighter who can afford jumping in the ring..." I'll name more than one you dumbass. Look up Mauricio "Shogun" Rua or Genki Sudo and then report back to me. People like you should just roll over and die already.
By ray109 1136173344 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyour leg is longer than your arm and a kick will KO you faster than a punch
By br 1135839443 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDo you mean a more gaurunteed knockout or a speedier one? During a fight, your hands are closer to the target. They have a shorter distance to cover. Hand strikes are, for the most part, faster than kicks. Faster plus shorter distance to cover equal a faster knockout.

By MikeRat 1134263075 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveA striking art has beaten BJJ in the UFC. Maurice Smith knocked the fuck out of reputable fighter in BJJ with a kick to face. He not only went down but fell over like a tree being cut down. Dont put so much confidence in BJJ alone as a fighting system. BJJ fights on clean soft mats in a ring or school. Would you be willing to go down on hot asphalt, a pothole, or nails and broken glass in a parking lot? Or what about multiple opponents? While you are in the guard, you could be planning to execute a "superior" ground technique on a poor pathetic striker while his buddies are running up to
stomp your nice face into something like a waffle.
Lets get away from this one dimensional thinking and blind loyalty to a any single system that we did not develop or are getting paid to promote. No one system
covers it all. Not a single fucking one. Some teach in all the ranges of fighting but don't fully cover all fighting scenarios. Many striking arts and BJJ are taught to the military, law enforcement, and government agencies because they ALL have value. Get it.
If you study BJJ you should ask your teacher to explain this concept to you. If he doensn't agree, he may just be foolish and simply trying sell you on the art that you are paying money for. If you don't, perhaps you have no right to be on this forum making those childish "My daddy can whoop your daddy comments".
Some schools teach Muay Thai with BJJ. Everyone in MMA crosstrains in multiple systems.Get with the times and do some crosstraining. No driver can get into only one vehicle and expect to well in all forms of driving competition.
By the way, if you do study BJJ, do you think you can defeat Chuck Liddell on any given day. He has stomped many fighters trained in BJJ and striking techniques by resisting being taken down and using only his two fists. The last two people he knocked are world class grapplers. He didn't get taken down in either fight.
Good comment man i think these BJJ are to cooky and think ther the best. Just shows how ignorent bitches they are
