    Both Vista and Ubuntu have just a whole crap-load of TOTALLY useless Features that only look good and have absolutely no productive use.
    Like wobbly windows, 3d workspace view, exploding windows, buttons that follow the mouse with proper physics,

    Now ubuntu is so impressive (at that level of interface). i wouldve moved to ubuntu a long time ago if the software applications i need exist in this platform. the lack of games and top-notch business and scientific application of ubuntu makes it very elementary OS though i might say it's powerful.

    Anyway, i will wait for the shortcomings of ubuntu. I'm 25 now, perhaps after another decade or so will make ubuntu the number 1 choice operating system as it supports many apps commonly found in Windows world.

    I will stick for the meantime with my Vista Business. has simpler animation. i'm not a eye-candy fan though.

      Ubuntu is not a resource hog at all. The only reason you probably got a lot of errors is because you don't know how to install applications. I haven't gotten any errors with ubuntu, openSuse, PCLinuxOs or Knoppix. ...(Oh, and puppy linux)

    This is a wrong way to compare two operating systems.
    Beryl is a theme you install on ubuntu, you compare an installed software on a stand-alone operative system with Windows vista that includes with features already with the package, please do not compare it that way as its irrelevant.

      people who are up on the "what can this or that OS do" game and who happen to be Linux fans just find it fun to throw some smack back at people now that Vista is out and almost everyone hates it. All that means is "welcome to our world, noobie" :P btw, Crysis runs on DX9, WINE does DX9... i'm missing the part where i'll cry ;) Btw... FarCry ran fine in OpenGL in WINE... idk why it would be any different for Crysis ;) I guess windows people wouldn't get it since they dont use t3h Linux desktop. they hear stuff from people and believe it instead of thinking ^_^ (generally)

      anyway...
      Beryl just came out with 0.2.0 and it's doing well as you can see :D
