If I had a REAL emergency...
Neat trick, however I wouldn't be risking an exploding/leaking battery to get a few more minutes on my portable electronics. It's hard to imagine what circumstance you might consider worth the potential health risks involved.

  I've been using this trick for years and its never caused a leaky battery. And for a battery to explode requires extreme prolonged heat...this trick not even close. Very safe!
