Unique Relationship Between Monks And Tigers

Did I read "monk's head ripped of" ?... c'mon maaan, I thougt the monk where loosing his head, the tiger spits the big cobra glasses, and start slashing everybody at the market... well however it's a nice peaceful video :-)

I was there last April. It's called Tiger Temple, in Kanchanaburi province, Thailand. The head Monk, Pre Chan, is a really nice guy, and you get to sit and take photos with the Tigers. It's scary as hell, but the cats are great, docile, well fed (Thankfully). I have a photo with his favourite cat and him. He grabbed the cat's head, and plunked it in my lap. Good thing I had brown pants on.
He's trying to raise money for a rehabilitation facility, so these big cats can be reintroduced to the wild, as many of them had their mother's poached, and killed in front of them.

Come on people. I live in Africa. Wild animals are ruthless. They are only nice up to a point. So keep them in the in the wild. Like I always say. I've got a deal with the lions, I stay out of the bush and they stay out of the brandy and coke. haha

A person of tradition would know that it is possible to interact with animals.

Tigers can not be domesticated because they all have that natural instict of being a predator. If they sense weakness or signs that you are afraid or prey, they will come after you and merk your ass.

i'm sure this is no different that some regular folk who have been featured as qwners and "friends" of wild animals

some feel the same way the monk, that they alone possess the charm and grace as an "animal person" to a point that there is no longer any perceived danger. and they are shocked if/when some thing does happen, that something in the environment caused the problem.

the trouble with yhat notion is the tigers, although very intelligent don't kow buddhism from a drug store

but when these animals turn on their minders, more often than not they get shot because they are 'dangerous'... it's the same when surfers get chomped by great whites or crocs take the odd human out, we are in their territory, not the other way round. They should not be part of our world and we should not be part of theirs...simple

This is very educational with hope for the wild life in veit nam the wild ctas are comeing back after 40 years ago seeing them killed by our B-52's dropeing 500 pound boobms on there habitat thay are comeing back.
