Password Protect Folders And Make Files Invisible!

that press 0160 ON YOUR NUMPAD and if you have a laptop press the NUMPAD BUTTON.

If you have WinZip or WinRAR on your computer this will not work.
You need to let windows use it's own compression.

Easy to find this folder by browsing in DOS or Filemanager.

Technically this is just a password protected ZIP file.

How can i convert hidden files into normal files

This is a much easier way to make the file INVISIBLE
All that Holding ALT and pressing 0160 does
it put a space -.-
so instead of the path going
>Rename
>Hold ALT
>Press 0160
>Release ALT
try this way
>Rename
>Press SPACEBAR
>Enter :O
then Properties - Customize - Change Icon,
to the gap etc etc etc

If you have Vista, you'll notice the invisible folder would not go away no matter what you do. Here's steps to remove it:
1. Open a command prompt. You can do this by either selecting it from the Accessories menu or pressing Win+R and enter cmd then Enter;
2. cd to the folder where the invisible folder is located;
3. Type dir /x to list all files and folders in short name. This will reveal the invisible folder's short name, usually 0A00~1 or something similar;
4. rmdir /r [folder name]. Done.

Everything works good....almost... I dont have the customize tab. Cant change the icon of the compressed file. Any tips?

it is not usefull coz u cant add a password in vista and once u make it have no name with the 0160 thing u cant delete it or rename

i cant put a password on my folder coz i cant use file coz i have vista is there any other way it can work

Both good technique :-Pasword works both if you have Winzip or Winrar. But you have to use windows Compressed folder option when you sending and creating Password to file or folder . and to locate hidden file or folder you can press refresh key.

Using the alt and the number pad this doesnt work on XP.. is there a different code or is this just on vista?

All you have to do is hold down ALT and the FN button at the same time, then use the colored numbers on your lettered area of the keyboard. For me it was M=0, J=1, O-6. Simply put hold down alt +fn button and type m j o m
The name will disapear when you release alt & fn. Hit return and your set. Hope that helps.

The invisible folder thing worked 4 me, but the password thing wouldn't work. It shut down my computer 7 times!!!
