eXasis Draws Fans to the Geneva Motor Show

You’ve heard of a glass-bottom boat? How about a glass-bottom car? Even better, how about a car that’s entirely transparent!

Fans call it glass, but the car is really made of clear high-tech plastic. The eXasis is drawing auto enthusiasts to take a closer look at its unusual transparent nature. With open wheels and a see-through body and floor, two tandem riders are treated to an unobstructed view of the compact two-cylinder engine and the highway underneath. Don’t be fooled – the car can cruise up to speeds of 130 miles an hour.

The eXasis, made of a clear plastic material called Makrolon® debuts at the Geneva Motor Show on March 8th. It arrives on the 40th anniversary of the first “all plastic” car, introduced at the 1967 Plastics Fair in Germany.
