Sending 250,000 multi-coloured 'superballs' bouncing down the streets of San Francisco may seem the strangest way to do this, but that's exactly what Danish director Nicolai Fuglsig did for the Sony BRAVIA commercial in July this year. San Franciscans have seen some unusual things in their time, but even this gave them something to talk about. And we've got the feeling that this commercial is going to do exactly the same thing.

Even though it's a great video, not so much credit for the Director and Producers as this has been done before, on the same street only a block further up: Does anyone remember Dave Letterman rolling basketballs, watermelons and other objects down Filbert St about 7-8 years ago? Besides, when was the last time you saw a frog on Russian Hill?

    • Just pause

This is the thing that makes me take pause. A deep pause. I listened tonight to someone very dear to me whose heart was breaking - not just cracking but breaking like a plaster wall after 17 years of weather and wind. My point: she is and she will have a terrible time of it-and it is my warmest hope that everything falls down as it should. OK, actually my point: I gave her this web address to make her feel more real - connected -pure; like the bag in the bag floating on the wind in American Beauty.

Both it and this video have reminded to stop. To stop and listen. To stop and listen for the static, the things we never notice but have the most meaning; the artifacts giving proof to why we are all here.

You are welcome to submit your comments about why technically this vid doesn't work, why the frog doesn't get squished by the superballs, why everything looks too digitized. Go ahead and speculate-that is what reasonable people do. The same people also have the capability to turn down the electric knifes, and to let everything just be what it is. A pure and rare beauty.

  • heh creative but...

It is a very creative film and I like where the filming concentrated on certain balls for a period of time, n that frog was awesome but yeah I felt bad for it lol The dog was sooo cute! I do however shutter somewhat at the thought, I hope no animals choked on a ball in the following time after filming... They better have cleaned them up!

  • They did use real balls...

I live a block from the street they used (Filbert Street). They shut the neighborhood down for a few blocks to do this (last summer), so no people. The security folks gave my daughter a couple of the balls.

  • colour

Very colorful, but who cleaned up afterwards??

    By redfoxII 1133654872
    • Why keep asking this question?

Why do people keep asking about who cleaned up the balls afterwards?? THEY probably did....they probably have people they hired to help them clean up, and maybe the neighborhood clean up a bit around their porches and such. Why is this such a big deal?

      By hoop 1133815661
  • What the hell??

I heard that they really did drop a quarter of a million rubber balls downs the hills in a neighborhood in SanFran. My question is this: Why the hell could they not do this through computer graphics (CG). Hec, a good portion of the shots look like CG anyways. Many of the shots looked fake anyways!!!
Why tie up the neighborhood and tie up traffic ?? Just do it with CG......

    By goonyboyie 1133596277
  • interesting choice

although it was very different and I have never seen anything like it....that really is a waste of time and effort and bouncy rubber balls. This is thinking TOO big for something not so big. His big thinking would do better for the need of the world.

    By msmaryx 1133595435
    • thinking too big like what?

business, banking, wall street "x" job? I thought you watched tv, movies, read books or listened to music too. Or do you live only off money and technology.

      By hectzee 1170048163
    • I agree!!!!

Think of all the bad things you could change in the world with 250,000 super balls!
