1) I'm pretty sure that the reason this trick works is because from the temperature difference inside and outside of the jar. The Seebeck effect is a phenomenon when electrons flow due to a temperature gradient in a metal or semiconductor. Although a voltage is really what you need and I'm not sure where that is being created.

2) Methane only creates energy when ignited. No combustion, so no energy is given by the fart.The fart is simply a heat conductor needed to heat the nails inside the jar (see #1).

now we can attach one to all the cows in the world and save the world from global warming and produce FFE (free fart energy)

If you put the two contact screws into the metal cap of the jar, wouldn't that create a short circuit? I imagine that the contraption would work a lot mor efficiently if 1 screw was insulated from the other. Something doesn't make sense and leads me to believe that this is not an entirely honest video.
