I think there is an easier way to do that in photoshop... Just follow the following steps and you'll get a sketch:
Go to Filter in the toolbar ----> Sketch ------> then you can choose any of the following three options and you'll get a sketch with different look:
1. Charcoal
2. Graphic Pen
3. Photocopy
and all those look a little bit different than the 1 in the video

if you wanna do everything urself. u could use the filter gallery instead .. easy to use, a wide range of filters, with even better results...
