I used a dime taped to a Card(like playing cards)
i used duracel batteries -- im not sure tho if they're like 10000% fully charged.
But the batteries in my both phones are Charged 100%.

1) If you ever heard of invisible thread?
the two cardboard ends are tied to invisible thread that's why the tape is there. as you drag the can away it pulls on the thread and lift the card.
The batteries,cd,cellphone is not needed.
If you wish to perform this trick only the Pepsi can with the cardboard and the card is needed.

Why older cell phone?
Older cell phone generate a more powerfull Rf signal. Newer cell phones with their smaller batteries have to reduce the Rf power so you don't have to recharge after a 30 min call. Ofcourse now you need more cell towers low Rf power. Cell phones currently being developed will not have a batterry they will run of the Rf energy form the cell towers, and people thought Tesla was crazy for doing this stuff 100 years ago :). Why a dime?
Dimes now are made of copper and nickel. Both these metals are not magnetic per say but copper does respond electrically to a magenetic field this is how electric motors, transformers, and inductors to name a few work.

It would have been more convincing if you had set it up so the thread was pulled when the 'coke can' moved closer to the CD, so it looked as though the 'force' got more powerful as it moved towards the setup. Oh, well, cute stunt anyway, sorta.

I was actually one of the many stupid ones who tried this. It doesn't work. Now that I use some logic, there is no way this could work. It's meant to trick/frustrate people.

If not a fake, Your idea is fantastic, But:

1) Try to make more reseach to isolate phenomeon: Components invoked are not so simple (Many unpredicable side effects could be present: Ex: A de-metalised cd would be better).

2) Try to extract physics phenomeon invoked.

3) redo the experiment with more basic material, and some physics explanation: Bitfield-Brown ? Weird Electro magnet ? Unknown effect ?

I tried all sorts of stuff and I can't get it to work, but I have one thing yet to try, an AMPS phone (old analog technology) which i think both of you use. You can find out which nokia phones are AMPS on this wikipedia site (search 'list of nokia products, Youtube won't let me include URL)

if anyone has one of the phones that are AMPS, you should give it a go, with new duracell batteries. Might even try CDMA phones, because they also support AMPS I think. That means 'Orange' (the company) phones if you're australian
