    There is no contest that I've ever heard of in dragracing. The idea of purposely destroying your car for the mere spectical is nothing short of retarded. I build NHRA Certified chassis for guys like these, and for a car with no motor, trans,plumbing or wiring goes for $20-$30K.
    Besides track owners and promoters would flip out at the thought of tearing up the starting line with the bumpers. Granted accidents happen, wheelie bars break but no contest.
    There is a class called Super Stock that does leave pretty hard and does crazy wheelies though.

      Sorry to disagree but, serveral local 1/8 mile tracks have regular wheelie CONTEST. It is a crowd favorite. And as for the starting line, concrete.
