Another musican guy in California is doing this for charity purposes. We went by the house to see it in person. The effect is far better in person. He had about 7 songs lasting about 30 minutes
Okay, you guys need to get out more!!!! This CD is awsome and the person who created this display is pure genius(the sequencing is amazing)! I live by this house, and I am proud to say that too!!! No he did not create the music.
~(Trans-Siberian Orchestra)~ Anyways, great job, and to anyone that hasn't bought a TSO Cd, or have not seen one of their concerts, you HAVE to...you will get the full blown TSO experience.(This is just a introduction to the wonderful world of TSO!!!!) ^_^

This is the so awesome! We played it for our families at Christmas time....they really got a big kick out of this video..somebody should help this person pay for their Electric bill...thank you for such a neat experience

this is actually a very simple light show just a unique idea of where to put it, I do FX light and sound for raves. if you want to do it yourself theres a bunch of companies that make the equipment, lightronics, Strand, Martin, AMDJ to name a few, all you need to get is the controller board or software (preferably dmx512 compatable), 5 to 10 4ch dimmer packs, and the cables, a martin light jocky system makes it very easy since it has a show creator simulator.

highly recommend the CD's. Incidently, I saw this house on a LITE commercial. Hope they were properly reimbursed, or at least enough to pay their electric bill.
This an excellent display of talent as well as a fabulous treat for anyone close enough to go and view what this individual has taken time to set up for people to enjoy. I give you ***** and kudo's to you.

We went there after Christmas dinner in Cincy. Very disappointed we did not get to see this awesome display in person. He could not play it because of all the scrooges with unlit houses in the neighborhood. He's a genius! Hope he comes up with a grander one next year. Bah humbug to the neighbors!
Just saw the TSO in Pittsburgh last week--awesome show. Kudos to the family that has this display--very, very cool. Next year they need to include TSO's song "First Snow" and put some snow guns in the yard to really nail it. AWESOME JOB !!!
This can be accomplished with a SLC 503 and 4, 16 point AC output cards utilizing a sequencer file timed to the music. The code is easy and would take about 15 minutes to write then trying to enter the sequencer data is going to take a few hours. The timer should be set for one-tenth second time base.
You have to either use a fast switching relay card or high current AC output relays down stream. Watch the load calcs for total current draw.
This can be accomplished with an Allen Bradley SLC 503, 4 sixteen point output cards and fast acting relays. Watch the current loads however. The code will take about 15 minutes to write but then you will need a few hours and a lot of alcohol to create the sequencer binary file. The time base for the timer should be set to one-tenth of a second.
this is like amazing i even saw a commercial for miller light beer with this house going crazy! that must be great for advertisment! its like REALLY enjoying the lights!
The most amazing set up ever! Love to see / know how he did that does he play more songs? Does he compose the music? wow!

A family in Canada has been doing it for 5 years. Check out Lindsay lights.com (no space after lindsay). They have details about what it takes to put on a display like this, the work involved, power requirements, tech details, etc.
This is the best christmas present i have received.

This is so much like the concert. If anyone gets the chance to see TSO live. Do so. "Wizards in Winter" is their opening song. You can buy the CD just about anywhere. I'm surprised that the news magazine channels have not done a feature story about TSO. These guys rule. I'm very impressed with the light display. I myself put up between 15,000 and 30,000 every year.
This guy has WAY!!! too many free time...anyway this is real because it was on the new.... I just feel very sorry for the people taht live near them!how do they sleep?
How do they sleep?

Quite well, now, since he voluntarily shut down the display due to excessive traffic (emergency vehicles responding to a minor traffic accident couldn't get through). He always said that he would cooperate with the Warren County sheriff if things got problematic. Since it was broadcast over a low power FM channel. noise from the display's music really wasn't a problem unless someone in their car really cranked it up. I'm trying to catch the display on the new Miller Lite commercial on ESPN this morning. Funny, I do the same thing during the Super Bowl, ignore the show and only watch for the advertising!

I'm from Alaska, the 'eternally' Christmasy state (in that we never get any snow kind of way) and we sit around the dorms and watch this. Not kidding. Everyone wishes people here would do it. I mean, it's dark ALL the time, it'd be fantastic!
Miller Lite made a commercial out of this house! Bud Light had nothing to do with this house. Everybody thinks bud light made the commercial but it was MILLER LITE who made it! Get it right!!!
I am in the theater lighting business. This video has quickly made the rounds and a lot of us applaud him for his artistic programming. If you want to know how he did this, look up the snopes.com website. It'll tell you what's going on "behind the curtain".

Theater lighting and concert lighting are directly related. Same tools, concepts and goals. Over 25 years I've lit operas, plays, musicals, concerts, fashion shows, memorial services, music videos. Spectacle is spectacle, whether it's Tosca or the Rolling Stones 2005 tour.

The Wizards of Winter is going around our school email! and every1 thinks its the best eva
wow
Such creativity - not just the lighting but the music!
Truly beyond amazing; what a display with a great song to make it come to life.
This should start a trend.....
Please, do not say this fantastic display fills you with the CHRISTmas spirit; otherwise the ACLU may insist lights not be displayed.

Hi: Would you be kind enough to email me the music for Wizarrds of Winter?
Thanks PeterG
I'm betting he used a Allen-Bradley SLC500 PLC myself. And a boat-load of beer programming it!

A PC would be better

How can I download this video?
anyone know where to find a clearer version of this online? i saw it on tv as part of a miller lite ad..........
I just seen this clip in a new Miller Light commercial. Pretty cool to get that recognition.
This looks like a scene from Close Encounters. Very interesting, but a little nauseating. It's the Griswold's house on speed!
WOW TAHT IS F***ING AWESOME YOU ROCK!
I got this in an email..and I just couldn't sit still..this man is just amazing...

Who cares what company did it. They are all beer companies. Making a big deal out of nothing.
