Teach your child not to bite people with these tips.
The advice in the video is actually teaching the child that violence is ok, so long as you are the one who decides what is "right" and "wrong".
It teaches that one must obey the will of authority figures.
It teaches the child to be motivated by extrinsic rewards and punishments, and not by their intrinsic compassionate nature.
It conflicts with many of the needs of the child and will therefore create pain, sadness, frustration, anger, shame, guilt, and other such painful feelings.
Instead CONNECT with the feelings and the needs being met by the child.
UNDERSTANDING and COMPASSION.
Then give FEEDBACK as to how and why this strategy of biting does not meet your needs.
Then make a present, doable REQUEST of how they could meet their needs in another, more life enriching way.
This creates compassionate connections, and the joyful acting that humans have when connected to life (feelings and needs).
Horrible advice.
Do NOT punish.
Do NOT scold.
Do NOT teach the child that there is such a thing as "right" and wrong".
Do NOT teach that the child can ever be "wrong".
Do NOT make demands.
Do NOT teach that people can ever DESERVE PUNISHMENT. This teaches the acceptance of or the desire for violence.
Physical punishment is the best way to stop a child from doing something again. So says The Holy Bible and the Word of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
What you need:
-A hand
-An annoying unruly child
What to do:
-Swing arm, forcefully applying the palm of open hand to child's face or back of head. A correct amount of force will result in a satisfying *SMACK*.
-If child is still unruly or starts crying, repeat procedure.
-If child is hopelessly spoiled, repeat procedure with closed hand (fist).
-After procedure, read passages from The Holy Bible to embed discipline in child. If child is old enough to read make them read 100 pages of The Holy Bible.
I've raised my kids using physical punishment as Our Lord Jesus Christ has written and they have grown to be fine Christians.
Funny as all hell.
A little sad that there are people who believe in punishment/violence and religious crap (both not mutually exclusive).
But what can one do?
