  • Rotation

It is NOT just a matter of 'rolling your knuckles'. Watch the fist video closely, notice the hip and body rotation? THAT is where the power come's from. All of the phoney baloney video game clips and martial arts movie clips are just that. The white haired old guy demonstrates 'if your opponent is only three inches away', and then turns 90 degrees and hits a surface that is at least 2 - 3 FEET away.

  • GOOD video '99k'.

Bring on some more of this nature. I liked the way they brought out the facts of some of those punches. Bring on some man!

  • BOGUS!!

Seriously people a lot of this stuff is misleading. Its simple physics:

    1. Power doesnt come from internal "chi" energy, its the ability to convert muscle power into kinetic energy and force in a short distance, which just involves moving really fast, and pushing off the ground with your rear foot because you're basically pushing off the ground.

    2. Training your hand does harden the bone. The bone is damaged and when it repairs itself it comes back harder. Thats why you never break a bone in the same place twice. Fighters train by hitting hard things. It keeps them from breaking bones in real fights.

    • exactly

especially on #2. That is how guys break cinder blocks with their hands. You can have the exact same strength and technique as someone, but if you haven't built up your hand and wrist bones they will shatter no matter what.

    • actually...

hitting hard things does make your bones stronger, but it also makes them more brittle, less flexible. They will be able to take more abuse, but if a hardened bone does reach its breaking point it will truly shatter, not just fracture. Also, while it's true that a bone won't break again where it has already broken, the most likely place to break next time is right next to the last break -- the scar tissue can act as a fulcrum against the adjoining bone (hope that makes sense :-P)
I got all that from my hapkido/taekwondo teacher

one last bit -- when they're talking about the "internal" aspects, IMU that means strikes that don't require much hardening.

  • hahaahah

this is another chinese bull ,one inch punch hahhaah bruce lee was a con man if he was so good in one inch punch why couldnt he use all his punches and have a decent tournament fights instead of using show off one inch punch bull shit ? cuz he was there just to cheat audience , chinese are good at it haahaah

    • another ignorant person

Lee didn't fight at the tournament because there would have been no contest, he would have easily won everything, and THAT would have been showing off. The one inch punch is something that a lot of the people there were not familiar with, so he wanted to share something new with them. He didn't need to convince the audience of anything, he made his money off the celebrities that paid $200 a class to train with him. The Chinese are a lot more honest than Americans anyway, just look at our leader, or lack thereof.
