Weight Warm Up
The actual warm up does not tax your nervous system or testosterone to cortisol ratio. Only once true maximal lifting takes place does a workout really happen to tax the before mentioned.
It truly does take this long to warm up to get a maximal effor to take place. An Olympic sprinter or lifter will not warm up for 10 minutes and then rip off a world record performance. Warming up the muscles and nervous system takes time.
Try maxing then waiting 5-10 minutes and go again. You will see how you warm up.
for 47 years .. have trained with a lot of the 'greats' .. I agree that a warm-up is necessary .. but the length of time you suggest, i.e. to go for a maximum .. 20 mins warm-up..is way to long ... if you train correctly... NOBODY can work out for more than 1 hour .. maybe even 45 mins .. after this time, if you are still training .. you have not put in enough effort... but interesting to hear your method.
