The TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) has been doing repairwork in the subway tunnel between St. George Station and Bay Station. During that time, the East-West Bloor-Danforth Subway was diverted at Museum Station. This gave us a rare opportunity to see Lower Bay Station, also called the Ghost Station. It is a subway station that was used for six months in 1966 but that has not been used since, except as a training space for subway staff and as a set for movie shoots. A lot of scenes for American movies have been shot here. There are obviously no people in this station, and it is dirtier than the others, but it is just a normal subway station that does not differ in any way from the upper level of Bay Station. It is just a bit of romanticism that drives us to see it.
