to everyone who used bad language against Dubai.... i can see from the low language you used that you are not very well educated as most of UAE's people... you do not have to like Dubai or the UAE to admit that what we have accomplished in 34 years is outstanding... please read about our country before giving meaningless comments... did you know that Dubai's GDP doesn't depend on oil? tourism and commerce make the highest percentage of the GDP... it is true we definitely need experts from different parts of the world to consult with for our new projects because our country is very young, but wait a minute.. are they doing it for free??? hell no!! so please do not tell us that we didn't design and built our projects! please tell us have you ever visited the UAE? or even travelled?? because from what i read, i can sense that you people do not respect other nations... or propbably jealous!!!

im an iranian living in dubai for 16 years. The civilisation and development has really increased in the past 20 years.. i mean.. all that dubai waz 50 years ago is sand dunes wit a bunch of camels.. and its true dat if it wasnt for the oil it wudnt hav been wat it iz now.
and bout the saudi and kuwait funding dubai's development.. ther is no sht like dat.. saudi pays dubai to ban public sheesha smoking in cafeterias and other places (son of a btch) so if dats wat u call funding, then dats wat it iz..

But now they are facing a lot of problems - they have to fight the current along the coast, they have to fight waves... Plus number of minor issues like ecology and so on. It is very unstable - the sea tryes to swallow it...

Using money you got from oil profits you have imported rocks and dirt to build an island off the coast of Dubai because you couldn't build a nice place with Dubais own soil anywhere in the country. On this island you have built a rich man's paradise using mostly workers imported from non-Muslim countries in Asia, paying them slave wages and housing them in shacks, while ignoring one of the basic tenants of Islam (Charity) and have attracted rich people from the US and UK. You have ignored the poor of your own nation and the other Muslim nations including the tsunami victims while setting up your little city that resembles some kings palace from the middle ages with the rest of the (poor) world outside the gates. You've even surrounded it with your own version of a moat. And now you invite the same people you criticize to come and spend money, but they mustn't criticise you. Oh my yes, I'd be proud to. I saw this episode on the discovery channel where they were building the island. It was amazing how they send the ships out to get the sand and rock. Originally they thought they could just truck the sand in but they had to have it shipped in and they needed a strong rock base.

I was in Dubai a couple of years ago and I loved every minute. Didn't want to leave. Its a great place with very friendly locals and to anyone who says bad about it I suggest you go there first and you will quickly change your mind. Hope to move there in 3 years time to work (if i can stand the heat - 50 degrees C in the summer - n.irish guys not used to that lol). Just wish our country was half as nice

Dubai is the best man

It is true that Americans are stupid and ignorant, but i rather feel sorry for them. No history, No culture, No future, just hatred and fear in the whole country. They fear and hate each-other even among the states. Their own people, to say so.

UAE is great, but we mostly know about Dubai, and not the other emirates. I would like to see such videos about the other emirates as well, and something tells me i will in the near future. Dubai has a great leader, and it might be of a great advantage. And what if they run out of oil??? Does Italy have any? Or Luxembourg? Or Switzerland, for that matter? They can build a nuclear powerplant that will serve the whole country for the next 200 years if they want.

And anyway, if you don't know about a country, don't judge it. It's a scheme that you are stupid, don't make it worse by showing it to everybody.

I'd love to spend a few years in Dubai at some point in life. What's the deal there? like no international trade taxes or something, pretty much the way the economy is set up, by letting the people take advantage of the lack of certain taxes... anyone know what I'm talkin about?
