It is not 100% compatible with previous versions, I had so many problems with that version, had to go back to v5.2.1

You will need to load a DivX codec on your system to view this clip. Real Player, WinAMP, Window Media Player and several independant sources have the DivX codec available for free download. Donload one of them, Install on your system and then come back and watch the clip.
By Rowdycat2 1132831542 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis plane went down due to center wing box cracks not an explosion..thats why there are restrictions on certain c-130 aircraft now.. most c-130 aircraft now are waiting center wing box replacement

By ukdave 1144891486 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehi there lets make this one final,
i remember watching this when i was younger, the presenters were carol vordanam and des linum.
it was of a program called "how do they do that"
i remember them showing all the tests they did and it was reinforcing things like casing for transporting nucular fuel and waste and walls to the main sections of the plants.
they did loads of stuff like trains into that wall and to top it off a jet.
if u can get the original u will c that what is lying left on the floor are the wing tips and all there is is a crator in the wall with shards of metal around.
think 10mr or so reinforced shock absorbing concrete vrs a jet. i know about the theory of if u moove paper fastenough u can cut a tree but this wont apply here unless u have a new type of flying craft star treck light speed ect.
dave,
oh the program was ace i wish it was still on
this is terrible, im a pilot and this is some scary stuff. butgot to be careful.
By jadman 1141671583 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAbout 10-odd years ago, a U.S., movie "Always" with Richard Drefus and the large fellow who played Fred Flintstone (in another U.S. film) of the live-action version of the U.S. cartoon "Flintstones." The story behind "Always" is beautiful. The aviation footage and application are spot-on. Watch this film and get a good clue as to why the folks in that C-130 do what they do (NOT did what they did.) I am keenly aware of the structural fatigue issues of this type, doing this work, with the hours on the airframe. Nonetheless. Stephen.
By SpectreDeed 1136357646 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe "large fellow, actor was John Goodman. He, Richard Dryfus, and Holly Hunter were outstanding. A great love story! That being said don't take the depiction of wildland firefighting shown in the movie to be anywhere near accurate. From the aviation tricks to showing how fire is fought on the ground to the way firefighters spend their off duty time is very inaccurate. I logged 5500 hours on 108 wildland fires and cringed in many parts of the movies. The worst scenes showed the air tankers flying through flame and breaking off the tops of trees. The scenario off trying something risky, while not knowing what the outcome is, is way off. Safety is a much larger element to wildland firefighting than the average person realizes and even then wildland firefighting is dangerous enough. I've lost 4 friends and co-workers, and knew of many of the others that have died in the last 30 years, to wildland fire and other on-duty incidents. "Its not like the movies" applies to 99.5% of what Hollywood produces.
By RetiredRanger 1166309902 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMy dad used to work for the USFS (United States Forest Service, for those not from the US), and worked among a great many of their firebombers. Most, like that C-130, are converted from older US military aircraft. The movie "Always" is among his favorites, and features one of the aircraft he'd previously worked with; Charlie 16 (C-16), a converted B-26 owned by Hawkins and Powers Aviation.
I'm sad to say, he did know the pilot and copilot of that very C-130 in this video.
I believe the ensuing investigation revealed a faulty fuel tank vent, causing pressure to slowly accumulate in the tanks, resulting in the explosion that ripped the wings off. I'm not entirely sure about this, however.
By AliWolf 1143172359 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNo video component. Audio is fine
By Northern Goddess 1134498382 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis is why I respect firefighters. Even in a relaitvely safe job like the airplane piloting, they risk thier lives to save others.
And that's the very defination of a hero.
wasn't hard to find a reliable source eg cbsnews.com
By Ghell 1133742215 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeif you think that not seeing something on the news means its not true, then i feel sorry for you, cause your obviously a F**king moron.
By boblad451 1133736176 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI actually saw a documentary on this on National Geographic or the History Channel about a month ago; they mentioned using the C 130 and boasting it's huge payload. Very sad for the operators.
By kwee 1133668746 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have the Divx codecs but cant view this either! something is wrong somewhere??!!

By mooncat56 1133019145 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI wonder what made the planes wings fall off? Very odd thing to see. It happened right after it dropped it's load of fire retardant. Poor buggers in the plane.
By Tank Murphy 1132847263 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeits ironic that a fire fighting plane crashes and starts even more fires...
