How to fix your remote controls
You might like to add another step to your video. You can check to see if the infra-red bulb is coming on when you press a button by observing it through your video camera or phone camera. If the light comes on and the remote still does nothing to your TV, then the receiver on the TV might be bad. If the infra-red bulb is on all of the time, there probably is a short across one of the switch contacts.
